Juje Posted February 17, 2008 Oppositon groups are stakeholders in Somalia affairs:Somalia PM Nairobi, Kenya (HOL) - The Somalia Prime Minister Nuur Adde once again reiterated his earlier position stating that it is of paramount importance for the government and the opposition groups to reconcile if Somalia is to achieve a lasting peace. The Prime Minister is accompanied by the Miniter for Foreing Affairs Mr. Ali Jama Jangali, his Finance Minister Mr. Ali Hamud and the Somali Ambassador to Kenya Mr. Mohamed Ali Nur (America). The PM was addressing to the Somali intellectuals at the Panari Hotel in Nairobi. The PM stated that the oppositions are part of the wider Somalia community who are stakeholders in Somali affairs and their involvement in the peace process will yield a lasting solution to the Somalia problems. "I see their case because some of them see the government as weak while others are opposing it. They feel they have been excluded in power sharing" said the Prime Minister . Nuur Adde added that there is need to integrate both the radical and the liberal in the peace and reconciliation process to resolve the current stalemate in the peace process and to bring a lasting solution to the torn apart by civil war for over fifteen years. Responding to suggestion proposed by the participants for the immediate withdrawal of the Ethiopians troops, the prime minister said "It will take us within twenty four hours to remove Ethiopians troops out of Somalia but we have to consider the general security vacuum when they leave and how to fill it" said the Prime Minister.". The Prime Mimister also expressed concern over the general humanitarian situation of the country. He said that the majority of the poor are not getting any food aid despite efforts by the government and donor agencies to supply food aid to the internally displaced people in Mogadishu. He feared for humanitarian disaster if the population does not get immediate aid and he appealed to the international community to assist victims of the recent clashes in Mogadishu who are internally displace due to insecurity. The Prime Minister also told the participants about his recent trip to abroad informing them of the willingness by the European Union and the international community for the support of his government and his initiative to reconcile the Somali people. He appealed to Somali elites in Nairobi to fully contribute to the rebuilding of the war-torn and to participate in the road map to peace and the search for a lasting solution to the problems in Somalia. The war-torn Somalia rermain without a central government since the overthrow of the former President Mohamed Siad Bare in 1991. Two previous government established in Carta Djibouti and Nairobi Kenya have not achieved the desired peace and reconciliations. Expect if your looking for messiahs and heros. In other words, the verdict is still out on the man. The stuff about removing Ethiopians in 24 hours is pure nonsense.........
