Jaylaani Posted October 25, 2006 Morgan Retired in Mugadisho? Why not in Boosaaso? He's from there right?
General Duke Posted October 25, 2006 ^^^He is from Bari originally but has been a southerner most of his life.
Jaylaani Posted October 25, 2006 I know he's married to Siyad Barre's daughter. So he isn't involved with politics of either side by choice or they don't want him? Obviously, he can't be a warlord all over again.
General Duke Posted October 25, 2006 ^^^No he is retired, and so should stay out of public view.

Jaylaani Posted October 27, 2006 I just found out WASIIRKA GAASHAANDHIGA ee dawlada Cabdilaahi Yusuf is this cat named Bare Hiraale who was fighting with the wadaadada gadhka yuuban in Kismaayo….DOES THAT MEAN he was fighting on behalf of the TFG? If so, could we say the TFG was defeated in Kismayo?
Jaylaani Posted October 27, 2006 DUke, Can you please answer this question for me? Thanks.
General Duke Posted October 27, 2006 Jaylaani, Barre Hiiraale was defeated in Buaale, he was fighting the clan courts, who attacked his position Kismayu. It was a local issue and the main TFG force did not take part in the clashes.
Jaylaani Posted October 27, 2006 Duke, But he is the minister of defense for TFG…correct? I’m so confused with the political system of these groups.
NASSIR Posted October 27, 2006 Duke, I heard a rumor that Barre went with his own plan instead of a different and peaceful approach for the Kismayo issue. Had the old man offered an advice for his Defense Minister to work with the plan of the government. Do you think his counter-attacks and desperate attempt to retake Kismayo will undermine the credibility of the government?
General Duke Posted October 27, 2006 ^^^Yes he is but only for a few months now, he never took his office in Baidoa and was close to what is the clan courts a few weeks ago. He was part of the JVA that held Kismayu, it was an alliance of two clans, one is now leading the clan courts the other has been sidelined out of Kismayu. All politics is local. You also have a right to be confused..
