Let us do it right, boys and girls

NGONGE

This story about the president does not make much sense to me. For the past two days I have seen two sides on this forum both adamant that their version of truth is the correct one. I (and I'm sure) many others tried to sum up things in our heads but it just does not add up. Are there things that you know which we don't?

Here is the scene as things stand:

1- Abdullahi Yusuf is still President.

2- Nur Cade is still Prime Minster

3- The President wanted to get rid of the Prime Minster

4- The President said he'll put the issue to the vote and will abide by the decision of parliament

5- Parliament voted for the government of the Prime Minster

6- Things are now exactly as they were a week ago!

7- The Prime Minster won this battle but the President remains

8- Yeey, since he's still there can still throw another spanner in the works

9- All other external factors have not been taken into account (or it's too early to know how they will change things here).

With things being as such, why is Duke adamant that the President is not done yet (though it makes sense of course) and why are those on the opposite side sure that Abdullahi Yusuf's role as President is OVER?

Your glee-less cooperation and evenhanded advice is urgently required here.

Because NGOOGNE: The President did not sign of on the Cabinet and thus it was illegal for the Parliment to vote on.

2. That there was no vote and it was sham as claimed by 100 out of 170 of the MP's present.

3. The President will announce a new PM who will create a cabinet, which will have the signed approval of Yey and then be put to parliment.

4. Yusuf is the President and Nur Cade is not the PM, and his cabinet is not approved.

These are the facts and I like your style old boy.

Exactly. Am with you on this one NG. It seems there is a lot of mis-information going on in these threads and the wider internet. Like you, I just hope there is someone out there who will tell us the truth in an evenhanded manner.

You Mr. cynic might be partially right. But the little somnali I learned from my awowo used to contain sayings that goes. MAR IDAGE ALLAH HADAGO AND ************** Hence I assume Nur cade and his rival are old and somali enough to be aware of that famous saying.

The media needs news, just like Yesterday today is no different.

Facts are as follows.

1. The majority of the Parliment support the Presdient.

2. The Presdient has made his move, and Yey never backs down. Nothing has changed and the statement today was clear.

3. Nur Cade cabinet is made up of 15 men and most are not MP's. The new PM has just to give positions to the MP's and thus gain more support.

4. Announcing the new PM will genereate a great deal of media interest and put pressure on the fringe group.

Nur Cade and his group have revealed their startegy, they rushed this, they spent a great deal of money when the real battle is to stop the new PM.

Yusuf has played his hand nicely

Tuug ka indha adag weligey ma arkin...at least if you are referring the legal status ..apply it on both versions.

The President cannot sack the PM. Period.

Accept what the president did yesterday was totally wrong and unconstitutional and then your rationale on the existance on todays happenings can be considered.

But by on one hand approving the short comings of Yeey and shouting unlawful the Parliaments decree today shows that you are a sour looser .

The whole thing is a fiasco and a joke Duke... and nothing more was expected from Yeey.

^^^Adeer why scream and shout.

The fact of the matter is would there have been any controversy if Nur Cade had the support of the Parliment?

Why did they rush this?

Why was there a hands show?

They prefer stunts to real deal, the Djibouti 550 parliment, the Banadir Admin, the weak cabinet All is a stunt.

Juje, you are always behind always following the news from Dayniile.com.

The fact here is simple, Yusuf did not approve the cabinet and thus no debate, unless one changes the law.

Yusuf appointed Nur Cade who has failed and will now appoint another one to do the job four eyes could not.

^^^ All good and well but how are these powers going to ensure that their chosen man will remain at the helm? This is of course assuming that the president introduces a new PM and wins a majority of the vote. Surely Yusuf still has an ace or two up his sleeve. Unless, as FB suggested on another thread he gets impeached and what have you. In short, America/EU/IGAD will have to engineer something to get them rid of Yusuf or, as is the case with diplomacy the world over, they'll have to accept whatever is the outcome of the parliamentary vote. Again, this is assuming that Yeey gets things his own way, which is a long shot in itself.

1) The rush was made yesterday..remember gathering few loyal MP's and declaring the sacking of the PM. At least Nuur Caade made his move in the Parliament rather than his residence.

2) The hand show was usual ploy used by Yeey all the time...not that it is against him it doesn't

necessarily become illegal.

3) The Djibouti Agreement was not even mentioned and the Banadir saga has already passed by the new admin is up and working.

True in constitutional norm and its legal form the president should approve the new cabinet before it is discussed in parliament - but that has been superseded by the arrogance and irrational announcement of Yeey yesterday which has deemed necessary to surpass him.

Now if two thirds of government heads - the Speaker and the PM are on one side the President has not got a lot going for him on his own .

To those who’s every prediction comes to naught and who’s insight is as valuable as the droppings of pigeons.

With regards to Somalia constitution the President has vast powers.

He has the support of most MP’s and all he needs too do is just get their names and signatures with regards to the approval of the new PM.

President Yusuf has the armed forces under his command; he has the support of Puntland state.

The fringe group has none of these extraordinary powers nor the military machine and deep pockets of Yusuf.

Thus the rush, the over the top news making the cries yesterday from Nur Cade, the trips to Nairobi.

Yusuf again has played his hand masterfully.

Juje, adeer there has been many worst times faced by the Presdient and supporters, today I can say is not one of those.

He has the support of the Parliment, yesterday alone there were 160 clapping the move to get rid of Nur Cade.

When the new PM is announced you knwo the rush and activity will increase, those seeking positions in the new order.

Nur Cade is a spent force a mindless old man who repeats, a couple of words and runs to Nairobi

Where in the constitution does it say if he gets the signature of 100 MPs he can sack the PM..do you have anything else apart from that utter rubbish sxb..if not..I suggest just shut your gob and stop complaining.

President Yusuf has the armed forces under his command; he has the support of Puntland state.

What army? And P/land does not matter in this case...it does not necessarily give you the power to rewrite the constitution the way it suits you.

If you want to take him back as your president you are more than welcome other wise halkan edeb ayu ku jooga.

Juje, the constitution gives the President the authority to name and fire a PM if that one has committed grave harm or has failed in the job he soar an oath to.

Its very simple really, the PM can not name a cabinet without the Presdient approval.

The fact there was no vote other than noise and a fake hand count makes this null and void on two counts.

Now the constitution is clear and the attorney general has also made it clear that the President has the right to sack the PM and send this to Parliament who can then vote on it.

Again the rushed, botched attempt, the outcry of the MP’s, the cool handling and reaction of the President testifies to the realities on the ground.

The army, the parliment and 40% of Somalia as his base. All your cheap can not change a thing. :D
