An open question to Somalis: What happened to your heroes?

For lack of a common African language, and in humility for using alien language as English is to us Africans, I will try to ask my Somali brothers and sisters a simple question in simple English words. And I will answer it without prejudice

What happened to your heroes? Human development, as complex as it was for times of history behind us, the rolling crust of events and it’s consequences left many traces of actualities that we all reflect back and wonder how matters inspired and transpired as we seek answers. Some times to very simple questions.

To begin with, I will not attempt to revisit what a worn out African excuse for being the roots of our common illnesses. The excuses that it is the white man’s fault. From colonial to cold wars to what is now evident in keeping much of Africa under the rule of cruel dictators and criminals such as our Meles Zenawi who will do and play every possible twist in the bad books of how best to scare and serve foreigners that keep pumping billions of dollars into Africa, nothing for the better but for the only sense of playing dice of on the lives of our people. Save for emergencies and short term catastrophes that need humanitarian help such as droughts, tsunamis, some epidemics and earth quakes as the only legitimate incidents that needs urgent help but with clear exit strategy.

Otherwise Africa needs to get over with what happened decades ago and must stand on it’s feet. The first key to this is to kick out the Western aid, political and strategic influence. The most destructive element which many experts agree is the curse of Africa at large.

As for Somalia, Melez played the best of the books of strategic exploitation of the sad settings of the Somali tribal structure and the power struggle fueled by many competing factors in the Somali theater.

Ethiopians knew Somalis as the hardest nuts to break. As some of the most resilient human beings any one knows in Africa. Men and women of bravery and deep nationalism. We feared Ziad Bari, the man many Ethiopian generals believe as the last true Somali. Every single Ethiopian child of the last 30 years or so grew up hearing this

Mighty man who can move mountains of people in one go and crush mighty Ethiopia in a matter of two weeks to the ground. Those brilliant strategic planners as Omer Arteh Kalib that put Ethiopian diplomats in New York at the UN down in shame and rendered them childish swindlers. Brave Somali generals as we Ethiopians learned their names by heart. General Dawood and General Ahmad Terza. Despite the historical animosity between Ethiopia and Somalia, I was one of the privileged Ethiopian students who sought and found refuge under Somalia’s beautiful flag of mercy and strength. Mengistu was able to snatch Ethiopian students from Sudan, Kenya, and Djibouti at will while those in Somalia were safe and sound. Meles was a beneficiary of Somali hero’s. And what he do? Taking advantage of the time when Somalia was just emerging from the dark and invaded it.

The answer to this simple question is : Enemies of Somalia, it’s neighbors , Ethiopia and Kenya who were the only black rulers who benefited from the scrambles of Africa will never sleep a minute without liquidating Somalia beyond existence. The other factor is the UNDP which is now the defector Somalia ruler. It is the UNDP and international NGO’s who basically control the Somalis. And why would they want Somalia to have a government when they have it? It was the most shameful of all events I have ever seen, to see a UNDP officers and as recent as the last Somalia conference in Brussels that instead of Somali government officials took the stand to literally speak on behalf of Somalia and present Somalia’s “needs” to the donors. And where does the money go? To keep the wheel of Somalia’s downfall spin for ever.

My conclusion: For what ever it takes, Somalis should get rid of this UNDP seduced purported parliamentarians. Get rid of UNDP rule. Get rid of Western aid . Get rid of the warlords. Get rid of the extremism-lords – they bring you no good. Build your courage in the spirit of your tradition, your peaceful faith. Build your Somalia that which stands on the feet and brains of your educated intellectuals. Create division of labor. Let the Sheikhs keep the peace, security and let them make every one accountable including themselves. Loosing a nation is worse than cutting a few hands and few lashes. If that keeps the peace. so be it. Let them not deal with politics. The rhetoric of invading Ethiopia and Kenya is food for Meles and others. Don’t go the slippery slopes. Somalia is now in the wrongs hands at the right time since the last few months. Put your intellectuals in the political and professional posts. Not the Sheikhs. And last but not least, initiate What ever it takes to curb Qat. Do it. Educate your young against Qat chewing. It feeds Meles Zenawi and the pockets of your enemies. Finally, lay tribute and respect to your fallen heroes of the past. It will be a healing process.

May I also say that the roots of our problems in Africa, what ever is going on, is firmly explained here : http://www.dambisamo yo.com let us get rid of the aid slavery. It brought us nothing but misery.

Somalia Hanulatu !

His Siyaad Barre Romanticism aside, he makes a good point! Something i have been wondering for a long time. These creatures that have hi-jacked our people and country, are they Gog and Magog?
