Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted October 22, 2003 Salaan... Oktoobar Waa tee...Waa tuma....!!! Don't start with me. Guulwadoow Siy. Aabihii garashada geygayagoow...Noo horseedayee, baarbaartayee...Haa Haa Haa   Aabihii dalkoow: Siy...Aabihii Ummadoow: Siy... Don't ever start with me about Kacaanka. Someone in early days of the civil strife, with the disbelief and shocking faces of everyone, said that we will one day miss Aw Siyaad Barre. I am no fan of Siyaad Barre and his socialist policies, but nothing shocking about that phrase would it shock anyone now, would it? Enjoy the kacaanka for a moment, mind you: ________________ Macsalaama.
wind talker Posted October 22, 2003 Who said anything bad happened on October 21st (1967)? We should celebrate it as a historical day for Somalia. Judging how 'bad' a day it is depends on who you ask.
Liqaye Posted October 22, 2003 Oct 21 at the time was reated wth delirium and elation. Although it was never a popular revolution and can never claim to be more than a military coup, it was a very popular coup. People thougt it marked the end of a corrupt, weak and shallow democracy typiefied by but not limited to the Sharmarke-egal administration. But unfortunately in our case it just ushered in an era worse than anything expected by a somali. So in my opinion it should not be looked upon as an inherently good or bad day but rather as a day of lost oppurtunities and misplaced hope. ON oct 21 i say Let it never happen again.! it is my personal vow.
