Gordon Gekko Posted July 8, 2007 Northerner et al; on the topic of SL's independency, is this a line that you would drop, if say the southern and other parts of Somalia become peaceful and the TFGs is replaced by an improved and stabile government administration? Or is the call for independency and break-away always there, regardless of the future of southern Somalia? I think this would answer alot of questions and make it easier for anti-secessionists to follow your arguments.
N.O.R.F Posted July 8, 2007 Edit, Emp, no GG on the topic of SL's independency, is this a line that you would drop, if say the southern and other parts of Somalia become peaceful and the TFGs is replaced by an improved and stabile government administration? Bring peace, a non warlord/corrupt govnt, no Ethios in Somalia and we may have something to talk about. Something i've been saying for years. One should concentrate on this rather than the tired SL rhetoric whenever one is challenged on the current situation. What you think?
Jacaylbaro Posted July 8, 2007 We've been waiting a working and elected governemt in Somalia for such long time ,,, once there is one, then we are ready for everything, war, negotiation, etc just the last step to complete the independency. Don't think ppl will give up just coz there is an administration in Somalia. The issue is much much bigger than that saaxiibayaal.

Jacaylbaro Posted July 8, 2007 I don't hope it will take that so long but surely it can take even more. that is the sad part.

I think that you've essentially layed forth a sound approach but it must be noted that this line of action can only become fruitful if it is exercised by both anti and pro-secessionists wherein the former needs to be hesitant in dooming or denying SL's call for independence and the latter careful in trying to take advantage of the southern bonanza through various methods. Coincidentally, the above conditions dilutes the noble proposition you layed forth since these conditions are continually being breached on both sides of the pond, even on government level.
