Jacaylbaro Posted July 7, 2007 I had said it before and I will say it again. A picture is worth a million or billion words. Did my eyes deceive me or is that the Somaliland flag flying next to the AU and Ecowas flags in Accra, Ghana? Were those a group of dignitaries attending the symposium on Somaliland? Did the Ghanaian Foreign Minister and the AU Chairperson bring forth the reality of Somaliland at the recent African Union summit? Was that the Somaliland Foreign Minister meeting with his counterpart from Ghana?..No, I don't think that my eyes and ears had deceived me. The reality of Somaliland is there for all to see, some may like to wish it away, but instead of trying to solve their own problems, they seem to have a fixation with Somaliland. This scenario reminds me of the man whose own house is on fire, but is preoccupied with the festivities at his neighbours house! Somaliland become independent on June 26th, 1960. Somaliland's independence was recognised by over 40 nations, including, US,the then USSR,China, UK, France, etc,etc.. Somaliland has once again re-asserted its independence on May 18th,1991, it is final and it is not subject to negotiations. In other words, "nin bal tiisii daayacay tu kale cuskanaya" Sincerely, Ahmed Kheyre London, UK

Naxar Nugaaleed Posted July 8, 2007 "some may like to wish it away, but instead of trying to solve their own problems, they seem to have a fixation with Somaliland." Your problem is that you don't understand that Somaliland is part of the problem these people you speak of should be trying to solve. How bout that for "Hitting the neil in the head"

Naxar Nugaaleed Posted July 8, 2007 all those happenings do not campare to the fact that some group is trying cut a third of Somalia from the country and shamelesly cantinue to use whats happening in the South to do So, jus like your doing notherner. would you prefer that we ignore that fact that your trying curve this small country into two mini states? N.O.R.F Posted July 8, 2007 Its not about preferences its about ‘logic’! You shout ‘come back yaa SL’ and SL shouts back ‘to what?’ and you reply ‘to warlordism and Ethiopian occupation’ to which SL replies ‘no thanks’. Your case falls at the first hurdle. Markaa the question is, what should SL come back to? Edit Are you not shamelessly supporting the Ethiopian occupation on the one hand and shout SL come back on the other? Is this not a contradiction? If all those facts are indeed occuring then what does Southern Somalia have to offer Somaliland? In time if the current situation continues in Southern Somalia, then the sacred or hated word " recognition" will come into play somewhere along the line. Making a big deal out of nothing, no one cares about SL... I can tell you there are more news reporting and attention focused on Punt than SL let alone the rest of Somalia...
