Jacaylbaro Posted May 19, 2007 The Correct Version ,,,, : Asked whether Somaliland, which has declared itself independent of Somalia, would participate in the congress, Ambassador Yates said it was unlikely, based on discussions he had last week with the foreign minister of Somaliland. However, he said some Somalilanders may participate through the clan-based selection of delegates. Suldaanka Posted May 19, 2007 Title: "US envoy for Somalia, Yates: Somaliland will take part in the Somali clan meeting " Somali Translation: Ciwaanka: "U qabsanaha Maraykanka ee Somalia, Yates: Somaliland waxay ka qaybgalaysaa shirka qabiiladda Soomaaliyeed" "Yates waxaa uu sheegey in Somaliland ay u soo Dirsaneyso Ergo Qabiileed oo u matasha Maadaama Reer Somaliland ay maamulkooda markii hore ay soo doorteen Dadkana ay matali karaan Dawlada. " English Translation : Yates said that Somaliland will send clan deligation to represent them [in the clan conference] because the people of Somaliland had elected their administration before and the people can represent the government " Asked whether Somaliland, which has declared itself independent of Somalia, would participate in the congress, Ambassador Yates said it was unlikely, based on discussions he had last week with the foreign minister of Somaliland. However, he said some Somalilanders may participate through the clan-based selection of delegates. Somali Translation : "Mar la waydiiyey Somaliland, oo ku dhawaaqday inay ka go'day Somalia, inay ka qayb galayso shirka, Danjire Yates wuxu sheegay inay arintaasi u badantahay mid aan dhacayn, ayadoo uu u-cuqsaday wada-hadal usbuucii tagay uu la yeeshay Wasiirka Arimaha-Debadda ee Somaliland. Wuxuse sheegay inay dhicikarto shakhsiyaad u dhashay Somaliland ay kaga qayb gali doonaan hab qabiil oo loosoo xulidoono ka qaybgalayaasha" Another sham. But this time, the big guns of the traitors will not attend. Names like Jamac Kaluun, Dr. Sifir and Gen. Ghaalib. Waxa meesha isugu hadhay waa xaabada xashiishkeedii. General Duke Posted May 19, 2007 It seems the US are supporting the unity of Somalia. Hence there is no special envoy to Somaliland just`Somalia. Eeven the UN has an envoy to Somalia and no mention of Somaliland. However one must respect the determination of our clan kisnmen in the North West. Jacaylbaro Posted May 19, 2007 No one will send a special envoy to unrecognized country ,, that is obvious. for the moment special envoys are sent to those regions under critical situations or political crisis only. Let's all wait until it is the time ,,,,,,, I can see a change in the US policy now ,,,, more to expect.
General Duke Posted May 19, 2007 ^^^The US is for once behind the restoraqtion of the state. We already have many countries who named their ambassadirs to Somalia all the neighbouring countries have notably Ethiopia, Kenya, Yemen, and Uganda the Italians have also named an Ambassador. The US being the sole super power has taken a forward step and got itself involved in supporting this governemnt. Which gives further advantage to the TFG. SomaliThinker Posted May 19, 2007 Indeed Jacaylbaro, the U.S., E.U. and A.U. over all know the facts on the ground in Somalia and Somaliland. In both cases all three clearly state that the issue in southern somalia most be put in order first IE you have special envoys running back and forth their. In interviews when they talk about the somaliland issue they clearly state that both groups IE (recongizing the somaliland side) must talk to one another about future relationships between each other. This here clearly states that World body will not come between the issue between the two which leaves the only option of talk that i belive in the end will lead to somaliland leaving the union. Their is nothing i can picture that somalia can offer that make somaliland rejoin. When somaliland is independent they can get aid and loan from the world bank, companys can conduct work their and i feel the nation will explode in faster development then it is getting now with no aid from the outside world today.
