Xoogsade Posted December 2, 2005 When are they gonna vacate that school and reopen it for the kids of Jowhar? That will be progress on the ground. Also, a great day for Somalia which can be celebrated is when this government has a presence in full force in every city and town as peacemakers and show they care. Since devision exists, many don't relate to the so called success. I am not in celebratory mood just yet. The significance of this government for me is when it has and shows the willingness to work with others if they are willing and for everyone else. Then there is that policy of hostility towards islam where they have representatives of ethiopian military training the police how to fight terrorism according to the bbc documentary. NASSIR Posted December 2, 2005 Xogsade, when was the last time you ever heard of IGAD ministers in Mogadisho or European office that is proposed to be opened in Mogadisho. Have you looked at the new artist drawing of Amin Amir comparing the two cities, Jowhar and Mogadisho. I hope Jowhar to turn into Boston.
Xoogsade Posted December 2, 2005 Caamir, No I haven't, and even if I saw it depicting Muqdisho as inhospitable, still, that won't make this government a success and an istitution for all. After all, if they sell it to be a government for Somalia, it should look, talk and operate like one. They can't remove the whole city off the map to be done with it for good, can they? No, right? What are the plans they have for it supposedly it is important to them believing their hypocrisy? Will its residents sleep till its name is forgotten if the so called govermnet never comes? Surely no. Muqdisho will remain a force to reckon with as it is today in terms of economy, education and everything that its capable residents can provide to their neighbours, friends and relatives. The warlord era has withered long ago and they remain political ghosts, only good to bother their likes on the other side of the devide. Beneath the surface, Islam is getting stronger in Muqdisho and we hope it comes in with thunder one day. There is a lot to live for in the town while some of you sing its doom because of personal grudges you harbour. Shameful indeed. The best thing they can do now for Muqdisho is to avoid engaging in anything threatening to its livelyhood. As long as that doesn't happen, peace will prevail as Muqdishowers of today, as they were in the past, are capable of living without relying on anyone but on their creator. Lastly, if Jowhar becomes a bostonlike town, it is a somali town that belongs to the future generations coming after this. Perhaps more islamic one. What is there to feel bad about that huh? Progress is one thing, hypocrisy is another.
General Duke Posted December 3, 2005 ^^^ Indeed, but who is being a hypocrite. The government represeting the people or the roadblock owners killing innocent defenceless Somali's? Jowhar is getting built and has attracted the international community. The beautiful capital Mogadishu is being used as a training camp for ****** , not anything else. You sound like your idol Sharif, just pick on silly points. With your own eayes you saw reps of 7 nations in that small town of Jowhar. Where is Sharif and his warlords? Where are the "Islamic" courts? Mogadishu is still full of roadblocks and the minorities and other civilians are getting bullied and assasinated. Face facts and stop the hubris.. Change and progress is what the country needs. It does not need people who hide behind the clan or our noble faith..
