Ooops- I guess ATAM's charades have not led to the desired shaming of members of the Faroole's clan, but instead hATAM's treacherous shenanigans caused unnecessary casualties to the locals whose "resources" he was supposed to be "protecting" in the first place..this is truly very unfortunate.

Beer-gaal, what do you know of Abdi Jamal and his private militia. Wasn't he part of "Somaliland" not long ago before he signed up again with Puntland after they promised and gave him the deputy security post just right before the declaration of war. He was recently pelted with rocks by a group of angry demonstrators in Dhahar for siding with Faroole's war and not with the locals' right to defend their natural resources. He and two other officials are alone in this ugly business.

 

Now he singlehandedly dared attack Attam probably under the assumption that he will be approached with lenient terms than the militias from Northern Mudug, Sool and Garowe. He paid a dear price.

 

Beer-gaalow, I haven't seen you condemn the injustices of Puntland. You are quite comfortable with Farole's scorching policies to uproot whole communitie and to abandon the city of Las Anod, a city that is more strategic than Galgala.

It's time that you criticize the admin and root for the impeachment of Faroole and his war cabinet.

Here is a distinguished Chief speak out against Puntland in an interview with BBC Somali service.

The elder (Sahardiid Ali Dhawaq) put the onus of any type of solution on the shoulders of President Farole and his Interior Minister when asked what they should do now as a solution to the crisis.

 

"They decided to scrap any meaningful role the Elders could have hitherto played, so they own the crisis and they must pay a dear price for it,"

Sahardid related to Yonis.

 

"We are asking the international community and international relief agencies for their assistance and to send an emergency team in order to help the needy and the displaced."

Puntland wouldn't have step one foot into these areas and Atam would never have had to vacate his base if the elders were on his side. The elders have chosen Ilka-Jiir as the undisputed leader of Maakhir political future according to Dhaharonline. So, since Ilka-Jiir is siding with the Puntland government, the elders/chiefs are following the person they chose to lead and this is why Puntland was able to defeat Atam so quickly.

 

Since the elders/chiefs have not publicly come out and condemned Ilka-Jiir and state that they no longer consider him their political leader, it must mean they are obviously still following him.

 

Even if this article is true (which I doubt), one chief means very little and it seems Puntland's success is because the people are following the man they chose.

Xudeed, I do condemn & criticize when and where ever i see injustice ,,but i have to admit we differ when it comes to Galgala issue , i personally don't see the issue as Maakhir VS Puntland or Faroole/Mudug+Sool for that matter,but rather a puntland problem, which i believe has to be solved, the best way though to me was/is peaceful and through elders west Bari elders . having said that,, xudeedi arima badan oo u baahan fahan ayaa jira boowe seeflaboodnimadu is not in my dictionery! Monsters like Attam don't have clans and don't care about the people. It's all a smokescreen, if he cared about the welfare of the common folk he would not have joined Al Shabaab.

No one is targeting this region in any way, you have soldiers who have been killed and they were all from the region. Thus how can they be part of the army that supposidely invaded their region, torched their farms and uprooted 25,000 of thier family members? It does not make much sense.

Thus the stories and constant wish for battles and death is not int he interest of the poor public. There are those with political ambition who want to create mayhem, but alas so far we have seen they are in the minority.

Is it not suprising the fact that Mr. Atam's repeated denial (in several VOA and BBC interviews) of partial or complete affiliation or any connection whatsoever (ideological or material) with the Islamist groups in the South is logically hard to believe by Farole and his lord, Meles , but it rather undermines the real agenda and the secret deals with foreign companies at the backdrop of other state-sanctioned joint criminal enterprises like toxic dumpings, human smugglings, and a well-organized synidicate of Piracy.

 

The fact that the opposition group has been stationed in the region (western Bari) ever since 2005 without ever committing any aggression except for purposes of defense and the provision of law and order for his native land does not matter to the pirate leaders.

 

The fact that he fiercely faught and stopped the former governor's militia over the contraversial mineral rights in Majihan and Dhalan given to Range Resources is not relevant but bothersome to the likes of Duke, Puntland's Pirate chief and his blind, clan-worshopping supporters.

 

The real monsters (like the PIS, Farole, illegal oil and mineral contracts, Piracy) are so clearly transperant to the public eye. If a solution is preferred over the continuation of an unwinnable war, then exorcise the above demons, and Atam's nightmare will simply fade away.
