May be following will be helpful to you for seeking Allah.

Salman Saeed

God and the Professor of Philosophy

"LET ME EXPLAIN THE problem science has with God."

The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and

then asks one of his new students to stand.

"You're a (Submitter), Muslim, aren't you, son?"

"Yes, sir."

"So you believe in God?"

"Absolutely."

"Is God good?"

"Sure! God's good."

"Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?"

"Yes."

The professor grins knowingly and considers for a moment.

"Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you

can cure him. You can do it. Would you help him? Would you try?"

"Yes sir, I would."

"So you're good...!"

"I always do my best to be a good human being , Sir."

" You would help a sick and maimed person if you

could ...in fact most of us would if we could... God doesn't."

[No answer.]

"He doesn't, does he? My brother was a Muslim (Submitter) who died of cancer

even though he prayed to God to heal him. How is this God good? Hmmm?

Can you answer that one?"

[No answer]

The elderly man is sympathetic. "No, you can't, can you?"

He takes a sip of water from a glass on his desk to give the student

time to relax. In philosophy, you have to go easy with the new ones.

"Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?"

"Er... Yes."

"Is Satan good?"

"No."

"Where does Satan come from?"

The student falters. "From... God..."

"That's right. God made Satan, didn't he?"

The elderly man runs his bony fingers through his thinning hair and

| turns to the smirking, student audience.

"I think we're going to have a lot of fun this semester, ladies and gentlemen."

He turns back to the Muslim. "Tell me, son. Is there evil in this world?"

"Yes, sir."

"Evil's everywhere, isn't it? Did God make everything?"

"Yes."

"Who created evil?"

[No answer]

"Is there sickness in this world? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All

the terrible things - do they exist in this world?"

The student squirms on his feet. "Yes."

"Who created them?"

[No answer]

The professor suddenly shouts at his student.

"WHO CREATED THEM? TELL ME, PLEASE!"

The professor closes in for the kill and climbs into the Muslim's face.

In a still small voice: "God created all evil, didn't He, son?"

[No answer]

The student tries to hold the steady, experienced gaze and fails.

Suddenly the lecturer breaks away to pace in front of the classroom

like an aging panther. The class is mesmerised.

"Tell me," he continues, "How is it that this God is good if He

created all evil throughout all time?"

The professor swishes his arms around to encompass the wickedness of

the world.

"All the hatred, the brutality, all the pain, all the torture, all the

death and ugliness and all the suffering created by this good God

is all over the world, isn't it, young man?"

[No answer]

"Don't you see it all over the place? Huh?" [Pause].

"Don't you?" The professor leans into the student's face again and whispers,

"Is God good?"

[No answer]

"Do you believe in God, son?"

The student's voice betrays him and cracks.

"Yes, professor. I do."

The old man shakes his head sadly. "Science says you have five

senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. You have

never seen God, Have you? "

"No, sir. I've never seen Him."

"Then tell us if you've ever heard you God?"

"No, sir. I have not."

"Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God or smelt your

God...in fact, do you have any sensory perception of your God whatsoever?"

[No answer]

"Answer me, please."

"No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't."

"You're AFRAID... you haven't?"

"No, sir."

"Yet you still believe in him?"

"...yes..."

"That takes FAITH!" The professor smiles sagely at the underling.

"According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable

protocol, science says your God doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son? Where is

your God now?"

[The student doesn't answer]

"Sit down, please."

The Muslim sits...Defeated.

Another Muslim (Submitter) raises his hand. "Professor, may I address the class?"

The professor turns and smiles. "Ah, another Submitter (Muslim) in the vanguard!

Come, come, young man. Speak some proper wisdom to the gathering."

The submitter looks around the room. "Some interesting points you are

making, sir. Now I've got a question for you. Is there such thing as heat?"

"Yes," the professor replies. "There's heat."

"Is there such a thing as cold?"

"Yes, son, there's cold too."

"No, sir, there isn't."

The professor's grin freezes. The room suddenly goes very cold.

The second submitter (Muslim) continues.

"You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat,

white heat, a little heat or no heat but we don't have anything

called 'cold'. We can hit 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we

can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold,

otherwise we would be able to go colder than 458 - - You see, sir,

cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We

cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units because heat is

energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it."

Silence. A pin drops somewhere in the classroom.

"Is there such a thing as darkness, professor?"

"That's a dumb question, son. What is night if it isn't darkness?

What are you getting at...?"

"So you say there is such a thing as darkness?"

"Yes..."

"You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something, it is the

absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light,

flashing light but if you have no light constantly you have nothing

and it's called darkness, isn't it? That's the meaning we use to

define the word. In reality, darkness isn't. If it were, you would

be able to make darkness darker and give me a jar of it. Can

you...give me a jar of darker darkness, professor?"

Despite himself, the professor smiles at the young effrontery

before him. This will indeed be a good semester...

"Would you mind telling us what your point is, young man?"

"Yes, professor. My point is, your philosophical premise is flawed

to start with and so your conclusion must be in error...."

The professor goes toxic. "Flawed...? How dare you...!""

"Sir, may I explain what I mean?"

The class is all ears.

"Explain... oh, explain..." The professor makes an admirable effort

to regain control. Suddenly he is affability itself. He waves his hand

to silence the class, for the student to continue.

"You are working on the premise of duality," the student explains.

"That for example there is life and then there's death; a good God

and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite,

something we can measure. Sir, science cannot even explain a thought.

It uses electricity and magnetism but has never seen, much less

fully understand them. To view death as the opposite of life is to be

ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.

Death is not the opposite of life, merely the absence of it."

The young man holds up a newspaper he takes from the desk of a

neighbour who has been reading it.

"Here is one of the most disgusting tabloids this country hosts,

professor. Is there such a thing as immorality?"

"Of course there is, now look..."

"Wrong again, sir. You see, immorality is merely the absence of

morality. Is there such thing as injustice? No. Injustice is the

absence of justice. Is there such a thing as evil?"

The submitter student pauses.

"Isn't evil the absence of good?"

The professor's face has turned an alarming color. He is so angry

he is temporarily speechless.

The student continues. "If there is evil in the world, professor,

and we all agree there is, then God, if he exists, must be

accomplishing a work through the agency of evil. What is that work God is

accomplishing? Islam which means Submission to the will of God , tells us it is to

see if each one of us will, choose good over evil."

The professor bridles. "As a philosophical scientist, I don't vie this

matter as having anything to do with any choice; as a realist, I

absolutely do not recognize the concept of God or any other

theological factor as being part of the world equation because God

is not observable."

"I would have thought that the absence of God's moral code in this

world is probably one of the most observable phenomena going,"

the student replies.

"Newspapers make billions of dollars reporting it every week! Tell

me, professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?"

"If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man,

yes, of course I do."

"Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?"

The professor makes a sucking sound with his teeth and gives his

student a silent, stony stare.

"Professor. Since no-one has ever observed the process of evolution

at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going

endeavour, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a

scientist, but a priest?"

"I will overlook your impudence in the light of our philosophical debate."

"So you don't accept God's moral code to do ... what is righteous?"

"I believe in what is - that's science!"

"Ahh! SCIENCE!" the student's face splits into a grin.

"Sir, you rightly state that science is the study of observed

phenomena. Science too is a premise which is flawed..."

"SCIENCE IS FLAWED..?" the professor splutters. The class is in

uproar.

The student remains standing until the commotion has subsided.

"To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student,

may I give you an example of what I mean?"

The professor wisely keeps silent. The student looks around the room.

"Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen air, Oxygen,

molecules, atoms, the professor's brain?"

The class breaks out in laughter. The Muslim points towards his

elderly, crumbling tutor.

"Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain...

felt the professor's brain, touched or smelt the professor's brain?"

No one appears to have done so. The submitter student shakes his head sadly.

"It appears no-one here has had any sensory perception of the

professor's brain whatsoever. Well, according to the rules of

empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science, I DECLARE that

the professor has no brain."

>

>I welcome you all to this new year 1425!!! Time has taken over our lives.. It makes us feel like we don't deserve this beautiful life, just this sin that makes us feel guilty because Allah (S.W.T.) wont forgive us until we ask for repentance from that person of whom we ill-treated by our words.

>Yes. I am talking about gheebah, backbiting and tohmah. These sins have become so usual these days, that we speak of people intentionally and unintentionally. I don't wish to preach about this . I just have a small message for you and that is....

>

>I ADMIT THAT I MAY HAVE SPOKEN ILL ABOUT YOU . YOU CAN HATE ME ALL YOU WANT FOR THE SECOND BUT

>PLEASE I ASK YOU TO FORGIVE ME.

>NEITHER YOU NOR ME HAVE SEEN IF DEATH IS KNOCKING AT OUR DOOR. WE DON'T KNOW WHO IS NEXT IN DEATH IT COULD BE YOU OR IT COULD BE ME. NOBODY HAS SEEN THE NEXT MOMENT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, WHAT TROUBLE AWAITS US. THAT IS WHY I ASK YOU TO FORGIVE ME FOR I AM SORRY, ONLY YOU CAN EASE MY PAIN .......

>IF YOU DON'T FORGIVE ME FOR WHAT I HAVE DONE ALLAH (S.W.T.) WONT FORGIVE ME. ALLAH (S W) DOES NOT FORGIVE ANYONE WHO DOESW NOT FORGIVE OTHERS...

>

>If you forgive others, Allah (swt) inshallah will forgive you. let us all forgive all the people who have said or done ill of us. lets forgive each other today and inshallah Allah (swt) will forgive us.

>REMEMBER ONE THING.... " A PERSON TO HONOUR IS THE ONE WHO FORGIVES THEIR ENEMIES"

>If you are going to forgive me, don't forget to thank Allah (S.W.T.) for giving us the ability to forgive and repent. Let us forgive each other of all the bad things we have done.

Ten Things We Waste in our life

(based on a lesson of Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah)

1. --Our Knowledge-- Wasted by not taking action with it.

2. --Our Actions-- Wasted by committing them with out sincerity.

3. --Our Wealth-- Wasted by using on things that will not bring us ajr. We waste our money, our status, our authority, on things which have no benefit in this life or in akhirah.

4. --Our Hearts-- Wasted because they are empty from the love of Allah, and the feeling of longing to go to Him, and a feeling of peace and contentment. In it's place, our hearts are filled with something or someone else.

5. --Our Bodies-- Wasted because we don't use them in ibadah and service of Allah

6. --Our Love-- Our emotional love is misdirected, not towards Allah, but towards something/someone else.

7. --Our Time-- Wasted, not used properly, to compensate for that which has passed, by doing what is righteous to make up for past deeds

8. --Our Intellect-- Wasted on things that are not beneficial, that are detremental to society and the individual, not in contemplation or reflection.

9. --Our Service-- Wasted in service of someone who will not bring us closer to Allah, or benefit in dunyaa

10. --Our Dhikr-- Wasted, because it does not effect us or our hearts.

OG_Girl

Thanx sister Sade ur great Articals I have this artical to share I s about Jihad how others miss understood the meaning of it :

Without commenting on any one specific group or nation, we would like you to know what the Islamic teachings regarding 'violence' are. We hope you will judge for yourself what the Islamic message regarding fighting in the name of Allah is. In the Holy Quran, the Muslim scripture, which we believe to be the revealed and absolute word of God, the Muslim are enjoined to 'strive' in the name of Allah, this is the true meaning of Jihad (the holy war).

Jihad can be done in several ways, without ever picking up arms. People fail to understand the true philosophy of it and engage violently in territorial/political issues in the name of religion. Indeed the word Jihad is also applied for fighting in the cause of religion. Islam permits taking up arms only in opposition to people who themselves take up arms first. Islam does not allow Muslims while they are subjects of a non-Muslim ruler, who is fair to them, to rebel against him. Islam is not supposed to be spread by 'sword'. It's beautiful message always attracts people naturally. In the days of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be on him) who brought the message of Islam to this world, many battles were fought. It is ignorant to draw parallels with those times and take up arms in the name of Allah. In those days, 1,400 years ago, severe cruelty was employed and terror used to stop Islam from spreading.

Over a period of thirteen long years many Muslims were brutally killed, because they believed in Allah. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) himself was persistently targeted with persecution. In return, he was the model of patience. However, when this cruelty exceeded all bounds Allah informed the Holy prophet (peace and blessings be on him) to go ahead and fight the oppressors. Those who believe that Islam's cause can be won through force and brutality and engage in violent actions are indeed ignorant of the real beauty of Islam. May Allah guide them. Amen. Wallaho Alam Bissawab.

SOMETHING TO REFLECT, ITS NEVER TOO LATE

--------------------------------------------------

LIFE INDEX CARDS.

In that place between wakefullness and dreams, I found myself in a room. There were no distinguishing features save for the wall covered with small index cards. They were like the ones in the libraries that list titles by authors or subjects in the alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling, seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings.

As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was the one that read' People I have killed' I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realise that i recognised the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was. This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalogue system for life. Here were wrştten the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldnt match.

A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories, others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

A file named' Friends was next to one marked' Friends I betrayed '. The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird. ' Books I have read',' Lies I have told', 'Comfort I have given', 'Jokes I have laughed at'. Some where almost hilarious in their exactness: 'Things Ive yelled at my brothers . Others I couldnt laugh at : 'Things I have done in my anger', 'Things I have muttered under my breath at my parents' I pnever ceased to be surprised by the contents. Often there were many more cards than i expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped.

I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it Be possible that i had the time in my 30 years to write each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed the truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature. When I pulled out the file marked' Songs I have listened to' I realised the file grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or more three yards, I hadnt found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed , not so much by the quality of the music, but more by the vast amount of time I knew the file represented.

When I came to a file marked ' Lustful thoughts' I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size, and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content. I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded.

An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind; 'Noone must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!' In an insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didnt matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I couldnt dislodge a single card. I had became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long,self-pitying sigh.

And then I saw it. The title bore ' People that I have taught about Allah' . The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards its contained on one hand.

And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that the hurt started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filed eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key.

YA ALLAH! By Syeda, India.(17years old)

All praises are for you Allah, how I hope you are there,

For the sinful though I am, your displeasure I cannot bear.

Never, till this moment, did I realise how much I have strayed,

Never was I more conscious of times I should have prayed.

For sins are like heavy baggage one carries through life airport,

Why didnt I realize sooner that the earth is but a place of sport?

Ya Allah! forgive me. Save me from the fire of hell,

Forgive me as you did my early parents though they fell.

Ya Allah!protect me from myself for my soul is weak,

Let me not falter ever for Jannah is the abode I seek.

Ya Allah! Please help me for I dont understand and thus ,I fear,

what happened to moments I never doubted that you were near?

My actions once were guided by my faith, which was strong,

Ya Allah! please guide me.What happened, what went wrong?

Each footstep that I take, I took with you ever near my side,

The Quran was my faithful companion, Rasool my beloved guide.

How I yearn for those days Allah, for I know that the day is near,

When we'll receive our rewards, and Truth will stand sparkling clear.

Life is like a spider's web Allah, we get caught in its tricky snare,

So thoroughly are we disillusioned, time for salat we can not spare.

I sit here and I wonder, Ya Allah!why did I fall so low?

What happened to my faith Allah? Where did my Iman go?

In this earthly life of ours, so often does sin seem right,

Falsehood seems the truth, as if days are confused with night.

Man is an imperfect creature and man shall always do wrong,

The road to Jannah is rocky and the journey seems awfully long.

Ya Allah! Our Creator, we are all just pieces of clay,

Please help us with steps in life, and let us not lose way.

All praises are for you Allah, I know that you are near,

I know that you read my heart, and my words you hear.

Ten things Allah won't ask:

1... Allah won't ask what kind of car you drove, He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation.

2...Allah won't ask the square footage of your house, He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

3...Allah won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet, He'll ask how many you helped to clothe.

4... Allah won't ask what your highest salary was, He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

5...Allah won't ask what your job title was, He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

6...Allah won't ask how many friends you had, He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friends

7...Allah won't ask in what neighborhood you lived, He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

8...Allah won't ask about the color of your skin, He'll ask about the content of your character.

9...Allah won't ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation, He'll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven, and not to the gates of Hell.

10...Allah won't ask how many people you forwarded this to, He'll ask if you were ashamed to pass it on to your friends.

HONEY-D

may allah reward you for this sis. i enjoyed reading all the articles but i have to be honest this one made me wanna cry. keep them coming.

Subject: love letter from some one very special

>

>

>You will be happy that you read this all the way through.

>

>As you got up this morning, I watched you, and hoped you would

>talk to me, even if it was just a few words, asking my opinion or

>thanking me for something good that happened in your life

>yesterday. But I noticed you were too busy, trying to find the

>right outfit to wear. When you ran around the house getting

>ready, I knew there would be a few minutes for you to stop and

>say hello, but you were too busy. At one point you had to wait,

>fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit in a chair. Then I

>saw you spring to your feet. I thought you wanted to talk to me,

>but you ran to the phone and called a friend to get the latest

>gossip instead. I watched patiently all day long. With all your

>activities I guess you were too busy to say anything to me.

>

>I noticed that before lunch you looked around, may be you felt

>embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you didn't bow your head.

>You glanced three or four tables o! ver and you noticed some of

>your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you

>didn't. That's okay. There is still more time left, and I hope

>that you will talk to me yet. You went home and it seems as if

>you had lots of things to do. After a few of them were done, you

>turned on the TV. I don't know if you like TV or not, just about

>anything goes there and you spend lot of time each day in front

>of it not thinking about anything, just enjoying the show. I

>waited patiently again as you watched the TV and ate your meal,

>but again you didn't talk to me.

>

>

>

>Bedtime I guess you felt too tired. After you said good night to

>your family you popped into bed and fell asleep in no time.

>That's okay because you may not realize that I am always there

>for you. I've got patience, more than you will ever know. I even

>want to teach you how to be patient with others as well.

>

>

>

>I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, prayer or

>thought or a thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a

>one-sided conversation. Well, you are getting up once again. And

>once again I will wait, with nothing but love for you. Hoping

>that today you will give me some time. Have a nice day!

>

>

>Your friend, ALLAH
