Cowke Posted November 11, 2009 Illahi ha u naxaristo. This is probably a hit by shabab or some extremist element. Anyways Dr.Farole response will be eagerly awaited. I suggest he station troops at every major city and begin a disarmament of civilians. This is a long term solution, short-term solutions of locking the culprit up is not working. Long-term solutions are needed to end this. It is not enough anymore of just finding the culprit and sentencing them. My support for farole is getting shaky that is for sure. NASSIR Posted November 11, 2009 May Allah forgive his sins and take him to Janna. Puntland shall overcome the loss of this national judge. Tragic indeed.
Gheelle.T Posted November 11, 2009 There were 10 or so Al-shabab/sympathizer that were sentenced recently in Booso, and I think he was the sitting judge. It's fair to assume that those "takfiiris" were behind his assassination.
Thankful Posted November 11, 2009 Who would kill someone outside of a mosque? I just don't understand it. Allah uu naxariisto There must be some major meetings among the various elders, military and police and government officials. Everyone needs to get involved for the sake of the state. The governor of Kaakar, the Information Minister, the fighting between North and South Gaalkayo and now this Judge in less then a year. From one end of the State to the other. These are attacks that are unheard of. Hopefully members of the Diaspora and even Puntlands former leadership will help in addressing these problems. NASSIR Posted November 11, 2009 It's sad state of affairs we are in because simply those who plot political assasinations usually target their victims in worship places, markets and at dawn time and they hide their identities----a borrowed methods of organized killings. But public officials should always maintain bodyguards since it's difficult for a fragile state like PL to deal with the complex security challenges of Somalia. We must also create family network vigilente groups who can simply report any suspicious looking agent and aid the authorities in the their investigations. It's a bad decision for any official to walk to his neighborhood mosque and market without armed guards.
