Haashim Posted September 28, 2003 Arab League rejected the american formed and backed Iraqi Council despite the fact that the american forces who occupied Iraq not only come from Arab countries  , but also financed and supported by Arab countries such as Saudia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, U.A.E and Oman and despite the fact that there is no one single democratic Arab country . Or there is a difference between the local formed (coup or inheritted etc) and foreign formed dictators? given that the foreign formed governmenet are more balanced (in terms of ethnicity) than the local dictatorship governments? I appreciate to hear your point of view on this matter as it has deep relation with our local problem.
mojam Posted September 29, 2003 This is just the politics of Arabia. These states say something publicly to put a face on that says, 'hey, we are independent' to keep the population happy but deep down, they are agreeing on every point with the usa. to get back to your question, even if what i mentioned above is not the reality, they still have a right to reject this gov if they wish. They still have this right, even though the country was invaded using their soil. After all Iraq is at their backyard.
Haashim Posted September 30, 2003 Mojam, i understand your point, but the question is when they were backing America to o verthrow saddam, did they thought that americans were dying for nothing or what? in my view this is not only double standdard, it's quadruble or more standard.
