The lack of female participation in the political section of the sol forum

Recommended Posts

What strikes me is the lack of female participation in the discussions of the topic's in the political section of the forum.

I believe that it is vital and important that our sisters actively take part in the discussions because some of them have got wisdom and passion for the peaceful development in Somalia. We all know that the economical backbone of Somalia are today our female sisters who contribute enourmously to the economic well-being of our country. However they are not recognised because they don't take part in the political process of the country.

The politics section forum is a patriachal section. It is also a very much men dominated world.

Anyhow we actually would welcome our sisters with open arms and we would give them "qaddarin" and respect at the same time with the exception of few maybe the like's of sky&family.

Calm down brother Iam only joking paradoxically I actually enjoy your posts and contributions very much because they're indeed very entertaining. Inshallah keep them coming.

As a female, I am very much into politics but for some add reasons, I don't reply to any posts int the politics sections. Yes, are culture is very patriarchal, and most of the somali men I met don't like women to get into "siyaasad" stuff, which is hilarious because I personally know more political issues then those guys, ha ha ha.

Modesty, walal why do your care what a beer-gut,cab driver,khat-eating 30+ Somali man says? If you like politics start posting, because we would like to hear your opinions. I know my mother is very involved in politics and debates with men(from every corner of Somalia) about (they actually enjoy listening to her ideas), and they DAMN well listen to what she has to say.

^Actually no, if we had more sisters we wouldn’t have so many men discussing ways to destroy our country and of course the lives of those who suffer most (you guessed it, we women and children). Men (except for a few) should be banned from discussing the politics or the state of our country. We The Brain, they Pinky :D .

Because it’s the only thing they think they are good at, but the irony of it is that they suck at that too  . Our country is in the state it is in, because our men are such bad politicians, are blinded supporters that sit at the mukhayaado cheering on their evil man or are decent men who do nothing but watch from the sidelines.

Sometimes I swear it; I reckon I could run the country better than these hooligans. What we need is a male president and a parliament full of women-that would be the solution. I am very serious with this, however considering that our society is as someone already stated so patriarchal, we can throw that out the window.

In no way are these comments derived from feminist ideologies, just going by what I have observed.

Lool, sayid none taken bro. Im actually a very nice guy, but when somebody comes with a negative attitude, I tend to threat them like the dogs they are. Nah just kidding, I think you were about to piss your pants there for a minute, didn cha. :D

lets not talk out of our butts. we all know men and women are equally qabiilist. its just that the fact that the role of women is nonexistant in qabiil matters, that they feel excluded and thus arent as loud as men are in politics. but if that wasnt the case, than we know we would have more of those Magool character running around singing for the destruction of certain clans.

i used to hear. ragga weey dagaalamaan weeyna heshiiyaan. laakiin dumarka dagaal iyo heshiis labadooduba weey ku liitaan. :D

In poltics

You argue

argue

argue

and leave with a headache and hatred for all.

So why make your life a terrible one when Allah ordained for you janaah without tribalism? I think one is foolish to choose tribalism phantam when there is more to life and the hereafter waits you.

Sky men are like little boys most of the time. they are fighting to achieve nothing but envy and hatred so tell me is that manly and cherishable? while we are the reflection and worderly light (not Allah light). We raise all the grains and seeds of the world put together...now that is achievement.

Indeed! Ironically, the whole qabiil thing is founded on the male line. What's their (women's) role?

LOL@ Wind.Talker and Audacious, I wouldn't be so quick to judge them as more tribalistic than somali males. I think it is better for them to not get involved in tribal politics but be more active in projects that benefit people wherever they are instead. Wasaq lama dhex galo and somali politics are just that. When things change later, they better be active then, but for now, they shouldn't join the mad circus.
