Poker Posted May 29, 2009 ^^What is the point of it if you can't enjoy it? You can't have enjoyable life without lasting peace. Stop raining bullets first and every thing else will follow.
Libaax-Sankataabte Posted May 29, 2009 I think it is amazing that the mayor is making appeals for development. I don't mind helping out any project to rebuild the city of my birth.

Poker Posted May 29, 2009 A lot of things but building monuments is certainly not one of them. At least not now. Asking for money from Diasporas to build roads that no one will travel freely isn’t a wise move in my opinion. I think he just wanna get paid and bounce. Meiji Posted May 29, 2009 Any positive development is good development! Why should people wait for peace to come before developing hospitals, roads and such. Resilience, and hope in the face of great challenges is what defines Mogadishu and what has enabled it to survive and grow despite 18 years of war and anarchy. Peace is not a pre-requisite for development for if it was Somaliland/Puntland would have produced cities that economically would have left Mogadishu far behind. Despite 18 years of war and anarchy, Mogadishu is still the unparalled economic centre in Somalia. Insha allah the city will survive this current war between religious pretenders.
