xiinfaniin Posted June 17, 2008 ^^I describe Cadde, and I don’t slander him. That he is clueless and incompetent is a political parody that even beats Yalahow of Muqdishu. Now the change is clear from both sides, but it's most apparent in Yey's seemingly willing compliance with the UN dictated terms. Jabbuuti hosted the thing, and the old man went there in acceptance to UN's invitation. I do thing that is a good stuff. It's good for Somalia. The opposition is there for the same reason tfg is there. So I don’t really see, the great game you are describing here in which Cadde and the old man are the winners. And to suggest Jabbuuti changed and deserted her old friends in the south is a bit over the board methinks---we don’t know that yet. The Arabs are involved. EU is involved. I hope they want the Somali problem holistically resolved, and not endorse one party over the other, as you seem to be suggesting. Now to cut to the chase, Jabbuuti did not change a bit. Somalis functions that are party to this conflict changed their tactics to exact the political and security change the want to desire to see. The ultimate arbiter in this is the UN financed with some Arab money. Instead of boasting about skinny she camels Cadde reportedly sent as a gesture to Jabbuuti, lets see the big picture, in international and regional sense and where PL falls in that picture... General Duke Posted June 17, 2008 Xiin, again much to do about nothing “Jabbuuti hosted the thing, and the old man went there in acceptance to UN's invitation.” What are you on about, the old man went there yesterday after the meeting ended to hold talks with his counterpart. Cade Muse was there also coincidently they say, to make some trade deals. As for this deal, the UN, EU, US has always been involved from the first day of TFG , what has changed? The TFG from day one has requested UN help, removal of the arms embargo, international troops to fill any vacuum, even before the Ethiopians , Ugandans and others came. This was Yusuf’s first request as President. So what has changed? Now whar was Djibouti’s stance, where are its former allies today, Abdiqasin, Xasan Dahir et al. You must remember how important the lifting of the initial arms embargo lift was to the TFG and its supporters. Its clear the new relations with Djibouti is a step in the right direction. Djibouti’s main former allies are now in Asmara which is threatening it and killing its troops on the border. As for holistic approach, Somalia needs a clear winner in its drive to peace, stability & progress, thus one hopes that a national government made up of a cross section of Somalia’s population will overcome any clan & separatists. But of course through dialogue like Djibouti is far better option than in conflict.
