ScarFace Posted September 25, 2003 A Woman’s Look in the Mirror (we should all learn from this little story) Age 3: Looks at herself and sees a Queen! Age 8: Looks at herself and sees herself as Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty. Age 15: Looks at herself and sees herself as Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty/Cheerleader, or if she is PMS-ing: sees Fat/Pimples/UGLY (Mom can’t go to school looking like this!) Age 20: Looks at herself and sees “too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly” - but decides she’s going anyway. Age 30: Looks at herself and sees “too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly” - but decides she doesn’t have time to fix it so she’s going anyway. Age 40: Looks at herself and sees “too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly” - but says, “At least I’m clean” and goes anyway. Age 50: Looks at herself and sees “I am” and goes wherever she wants to go. Age 60: Looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can’t even see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world. Age 70: Looks at herself and sees wisdom, laughter and ability, goes out and enjoys life. Age 80: Doesn’t bother to look. Just puts on a purple scarf and goes Out to have fun with the world. Everyone needs to be told they’re great, so here’s to YOU! To an exceptionally beautiful woman! The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen within her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole. But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she longingly gives, the passion that shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years - only grows! YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN, PHENOMENAL WOMAN!!

Blessed Posted October 3, 2003 Allah, he called us phenomenal. Doesn't happen much in this forum, thanx. This is one of my fav. poems by Maya Angeloue, it is coincidently entitled Phenomenal Woman ____________________________________ Pretty women wonder where my secret lies I'm not cute or built to suit a model's fashion size But when I start to tell them They think I'm telling lies. I say It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips The stride of my steps The curl of my lips. I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me. I walk into a room Just as cool as you please And to a man The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees Then they swarm around me A hive of honey bees. I say It's the fire in my eyes And the flash of my teeth The swing of my waist And the joy in my feet. I'm a woman Phenomenal woman That's me. Men themselves have wondered What they see in me They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them They say they still can't see. I say It's in the arch of my back The sun of my smile The ride of my breasts The grace of my style. I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me. Now you understand Just why my head's not bowed I don't shout or jump about Or have to talk real loud When you see me passing It ought to make you proud. I say It's in the click of my heels The bend of my hair The palm of my hand The need for my care. 'Cause I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me.
