Col. Ibrahim Hashi Gabow, the police commander of Bay region, survived the attack on his home but one of his bodyguards was killed and two others wounded. The attackers fled after surviving bodyguards opened gunfire and chased them away, witnesses reported. Col. Gabow's home is located in the town of Baidoa, 250km northwest of the national capital Mogadishu. Senior government officials, including Prime Minister Nur "Adde" Hassan Hussein, currently reside in Baidoa. Unconfirmed reports said two of Col. Gabow's small children slightly wounded in the attack were hospitalized in Baidoa along with the two wounded soldiers. On Friday, a regional judge was shot and killed in Baidoa. Col.
