Caamir,

That is not sufficient enough to proof anything nor does it match the numerous history which was written, if there was any truth to that, we would have heard about it.

I am suprised you are conviced by such small paragraph.

Alamaganow,

adiga 'nimaku' sidan iyo sidaas ayaa kaasoo hadhay.

Kolay, taariikh waa wax dhacay sida ay udhacdayna waa lahayaa, wayna caday.

Qoraal yar oo ka duwan sida taariikhdu udhacday waxba ma tari karo. As matter of fact, and as truth is and as occured is out there, we all know it, one needs to look at it in unbiased way to understand it.

Dissatisfaction at the distribution of power among the clanfamilies and between the two regions boiled over in December 1961,
when a group of British-trained junior army officers in the north rebelled in reaction to the posting of higher ranking southern officers (who had been trained by the Italians for police duties) to command their units.

This should explain why you hardly see a man from the 'north' who goes beyond colonel, a general is rare, while most of southerns even men trained for police duties are given the title of 'general' while actual trained military officers were rank below them, that is some injustice right there, it should explain what went wrong from the getgo.

^A valid point there Stealth. If we're honest enough with ourselves, I think, there are many things that are visibly wrong. But we decide to act blissfully ignorant of them.

lol@Stealth and Paragon!

Horta xagge degentihiin :D ? All these valid points represent narrow political grievances and it hardly gives a moral justification to snm’s separatism drive! Either you guys are missing the fundamentals of nationhood or just like to banter…I mean you can’t be serious about giving Somaliland’s wrong policies of secession a moral rationalization on a mere political and institutional disadvantages. These sorts of things are correctable and could have other remedies short of dividing the whole country….

Other than that minor objection, I think Paragon's write up fired some intellectual bullets and presented a sympathetic case for our brothers in the North! Do continue adeer …

^Lol Xiin. Fundamentals of nationhood? :D What is it that we don't know that you know? Sometimes such things come across as mere jargons sxb. Maybe we should discuss the 'fundamentals of nationhood' at length and indepth. We might learn new things.

Lol, because they grevances are 'correctable' their action towars self-reliance is 'unjustifiable'? Some logic there, yaa Xiin. You say:

giving Somaliland’s wrong policies of secession a moral rationalization on a
mere political and institutional disadvantages

Or is it, Xiin? You seem to be ignoring the fact that my writing was merely dealing with the first years of independence. Don't reach your conclusions before you hear all the evidence. Or other wise you would need to revise your conclusions again and again :D

I assure you isku meel ma deganin, as far as I know smile.gif .

^^Jacaylbaro, unitigaa ayaanba rabnaa. Aniga NFD iyo Ethiopia ayaa layga jiraa oo uu geel xeryo igaga gadaaman yahay. marka, unity ayaan u doonayaa ninyow balse inta la doondoonayo in si xaq-dhowr leh ha lagu doondoono ayaan leeyahay. There is a bigger picture here and all we seem to some doing is fighting over one piece of it. That won't do.
