government bans cars traveling from the capital Mogadishu

 

Somaliweyn Media Center (SMC) The powerless interim government of Somalia has prohibited the luxury cars from Mogadishu to inter Baidoa, its temporary seat, for security reason after two blasts used with luxury cars rocketed at the town.On Thursday the last suicide car bomb killed at least 12 in outskirt Baidoa as the government accused the Islamists of the responsibility. Islamists denied to have carried out it.

Biadoa district administrator Ahmed Madey **** has formally announced the decision in a decree he issued while he said the pronouncement will come in to a force from December fifth.

 

“All luxury cars traveling from Mogadishu, where the Islamists based will not be permitted to get to Baidoa for security and safety anxious” Madey said.

 

Madey said the government has suspicion over suicide car bombers may come from Mogadishu as intelligence reports showed and that is the why the government said all cars from

 

People traveling from Mogadishu to Baidoa use Mark II model cars, the same cars used for the suicide bombings that took place in Baidoa.

 

Some drivers have expressed concerns over the ban saying they will face difficulties because they were earning money from traveling to Baidoa.

The courts could just buy vehicle in Baydhabo or even from Ethiopia. The TFG will just be inconveniencing oridinary citizens.

^^^No Saxib, the aim is not to hamper the sale of vehicles . Its a temporary security measure. No vehicles from Mogadishu can come to Baidoa. .

Saaxib...I admit to nothig, but this ban is complicating life for the average citizens. If the courts were hell bent on using car bombs to achieve military victory, they could just have easily plan car bombs within Baydhabo itself. The materials needed to carry out just thing can easily smuggled in,and vehicles can be bought in Baydhabo too.

 

The ban won't achieve its intended goals.

^^^There has been two such attacks in the past few months. Thus the ban if it works might limit opprtunities. Since both attcaks were allegedly from Mogadishu. I doubt these groups could set up such things from Ethiopia or within the city.
