miles-militis Posted January 23, 2004 The pseudo rector of the century The peace talks were stagnant for almost six months for him and his demands for concessions. When not locking himself up in hotel rooms refusing to engage other leaders, or perhaps not storming in and out completely snubbing dignitaries of the host nations, A/Qassim was gyrating in Arab capitals with a bottomless basket. When not crying foul, shifting the blame, and accusing others of hampering the peace process, he was recruiting junior faction leaders to further complicate an already complex matter. When not claiming to be the de facto, legit head of State of the whole of Somalia, he refused to travel outside his hotel room if not accompanied by heavily armed militia. When not dismissing autonomous administrations in Somaliland and Puntland as “Balaayo Land” borrowing phrases from his close confidante, and spin doctor, the history professor of U of M (Samatar Jr), he unleashed his militia to inflict atrocities upon civilians in Marka, Barawe and Kisamayo with unprecedented fervour and valour. When not squandering some $50 million in aid and financial assistance secured in the name of the poor Somalis, he was signing deals with foreign entities to exploit Somali resources, (banana contracts with Libya and tourist residences secured with promissory notes and loans) as collateral. When not demanding reimbursements of some $20 million in loans to be paid to Mogadishu brokers (apparently owed by his Arta TNG), he remained egotistical asking to be recognised a legit Somali President alongside Abdillahi Issa, Adam Ade, Abdirashid A Sharmaarke. And finally he comes to his senses, dumps his recruits at dawn, and agrees to rejoin the peace talks. NOTHING gained thus far. NONE of his original superficial demands met. NO new friends won. Compromised his political constituency though never succeeded in capturing large followings. So Why? I do not consider him a nationalist. Nor do I reckon him doing this now out of the goodness of his heart. Or for the Somali people for that matter. And mostly, persona non gratis in the political arena. Perhaps our resident specialist – (Horn, a supporter of the Arta TNG if I am mistaken) and his newly minted lads from could offer an opinion?

General Duke Posted January 23, 2004 Horn dear, still running after I ran out of time A/QASIN? Boy whats your point? He has accepted evrything he refuse last year. Federalism he accepted. The existance of Somaliland and Puntland he has accepted. The Conference has not been moved from Niarobi as he wanted. Kipligat has not been changed as he wanted. Ethiopia has not been kicked out as he wanted. The man is apathetic failure, he has wasted 3 years of the Somali people. what has he achieved apart from, making himself richer, Mogadishu is worse than when he came. His Vampire kinsmen are sucking out the lives of the people of Marka, Barava and other towns in the lower regions. Say what you like, he is the worst out of the so called warlords. miles-militis Posted January 24, 2004 Horn- Do not get hasty, nor too comfortable my old son.The issue of Kismayo, its occupying "Galgadud Brotherhood", and its rightful residents shall be addressed in a timely manner. In the meantime, all one has to do is watch and see as it unfolds right in front of one's eyes. Untill then, keep shivering my old son.

These disagreements about political issues should never turn into a battle of the qabiils right here on Somalia Online. Ixtiraamkii nomadska yaan laga tegin.
