Land_Soldier Posted August 17, 2010 Nonsense. A federal constitution should be written and adopted by the states and not by small group of people in Djoubti Hotels. What happens if one the States doesnt adopt the Federeal Constitution of Somalia?

Suldaanka Posted August 17, 2010 The idea of importing yet another constitution sounds like a bad idea.
Sophist Posted August 17, 2010 This could be a great process for making peace in Somalia. The constitution is a draft consultation and there shall be a wider puplic consultation that will strat in a week or two insha Allah. The issue is we need to move from this ever transitional government to a more permanent structure of governance. This will help the country and it could be a renewable of hope and aspirations for the counrtry. Abu S

Sophist Posted August 18, 2010 JB, my dear friend what is your issue? Do you think that this would not work or to begin with you are of the opinion it is utterly wrong to speak about constitution that could potentially unite the country? Eloborate will you? Jacaylbaro Posted August 18, 2010 Is it really time for a constitution ?? ,, the government is helpless and controls only 2kms of the capital city, it cannot exist without foreign troops, most of the country is in the hands of either Alshabab or other groups. I mean let's not fool ourselves here .... There is no need to impose yet another so called constitution that is done again outside the country. Time & resource should go into grass-root reconciliation and creating a bottom-up government then thinks will be more easy and such constitution can then be drafted inside the country. Sophist Posted August 19, 2010 Why not? Isn't the constitutional making itself a peace process? Come on now my friend you are member of the civil society; dont be blinded by certain idhiloojiyad! Abu S
