Remembering President Egal’s Legacy

Mohamed Ibrahin Egal was strong pillar in the existence of the republic of Somaliland, and he always has a heart of gold to promote peace and democracy to the whole of Africa where choes is the dominant factor. And if ever some body was to be given the title of humanity and good nature, then he was the soul of it.

How ever when the history of this country is written for the future generations every young person will have to say we lost a kind, thoughtful and gentle father. He is also gregarious person who injected new meanings and dignity in to the veins of Somali Landers.

To day here on this stage, I also want to sincerely thank Mr. Ahmed M .I .Egal and the family of our late president who showed a splendid example and great moral support for this country; I want to say thanks for your support, we will always be grateful and be proud of you.

To cut my words short, we have a great pain for the loss of our prominent president. And this month is the month which will mark one of our saddest and monstrous turning points in our life. Each of us will remember that moment; the bad news comes to where we were and what we were doing. The fact that he had passed away does not mean he departed from our lives.

The passage of time has not healed our hearts and as life and memory last, we will remember you and you will remain deep in our living memories for the rest of our lives President Egal.

Farhan A Suleiman (Oday)

Hargeisa, Somaliland

Absurd argument as usual from an unstable secessionist. If Somaliland was independent, why did her become PM of a United Somalia?

He was dumb huh, JB. :D

Anywho in all the pics, the man was a servent of the Somali republic & its capital Mogadishu.

Also he failed to get RECOGNITION for the NW enclave, he waged a destructive clan civil war against Tuur, that killed thousands, then chose an NSS spy as his deputy, robed the poor peoples taxes and died, without any success in creating an independent "Somaliland" till this day, the world recognises this enclave as part of Somalia. ;)

I think Somalia Failled with the unity Of somaliland And somalia in 1960, koonfuria has been torn By Conflicts And war and piracy for the past 50 years since Koonfurias independence.

Somaliland Normalization and the Establishment of real governance was welcomed by the majority of somalilanders under Cigaals Goverment

Somaliland has achieved a measure of stability and progress and unity under Egals Administration, may allah bless his soul he will go down in history as the father of the nation of somaliland.

I believe, the history books already have him down as one of the founding fathers of the Somali Republic. Therefore, it wouldn't be wise to tarnish his reputation by associating his esteemed name to the history of a nonentity such as Marfishland.

Marka Xaaji Marduuf, intaad odeyga isleydahay aanu amaano ayaad qashin magaciisa ku rogaysaa, ee ka jooji!
