Nice pics, Maakhir state shall come to fruition sooner or later. At the present it does only function in limited scope with the provision of social needs and emergence situation response but the declaration of a governing system lack the complete consensus needed within the Maakhir communities at home and abroad because of conflicting priorities. As one expert puts it eloquently,"there is nothing other than building Laasqoray port and the construction of Geeldoora road that makes sense to them. The need to set up a governance structure, build an administration, in order to organize and build their economies eludes them."

First of all lets not pick fights and inspector is out of line with regards to the comments about Makhir.

However our brothers in SSC, need to understand that there is no force in being part of the state, it should be a privilege and that they share all the weaknesses and strengths of the other regions that make up the state. All the recent talk is self defeating and again, some here are just messaging clan egos while taking their eye of the reality.

Oh what A horrible idea of development we have! A modern hospital? Village Wifi? A civic center? Roads? Water treatment center? a simple airfield? Schools? Trade center? Guess few villas is the best we can hope for! Why is it that Somali Magaalos never emulate other cities, towns or even villages? Get two strips of houses and bam, you got a city in Somalia. Of course this rant is not against rer badhamot or maakhrites but Somalis in General. As for this where is this place, when will we realize no amount ink spilled on these pages will have any effect on reality? AS for some of the puntlanders here, let me remind them that these people are free to go or make of their land wherever they please and should puntland want to help anyone, it can help the two dusty villages it has become. Somalilanders, any involvement in any form in these regions is self defeating at the end of the day. Somaliland chance with these communities is to show them a different administration then the southerners, well organized, democratic, egalitarian and development focused.

^Sanaag has some of the developmental programs and services attained like schools and colleges, hospitals and industries and the people who hail from this region are also in the process of implementing bigger projects like Roads, ports and airports.
