Mudane Siilaanyo oo kulan balaadhan la yeeshay beesha galbeedka Burco

I believe Mr. Silaanyo is so desperate to win the Presidency by playing the clan-card. If the people from the South of Burco were tribal-minded, they would have voted for the Sahan party during the last presidential elections. What other plan other than 'vote for me cuz I'm SNM' is Mr. Silanyo has? He does not have much credibility in Burco let alone the rest of Somaliland. When Burco needed him the most during the 1996 civil war, he even not bothered to say anything about the war. He was a respected leader and people would have listened to him. He has no that respect now and that is why he lost to Pres. Riyaale. Plus, Riyaale now enjoys more popularity because he put Somaliland on the map with his leadership.

The best of SNM leadership including Dhega wayne and Ina Mirre are now retired from the politics and Mr. Silaanyo should do the same too!

President Riyaale has won the last elections not because of his clan but the majority of Somaliland citizens have trusted him. And he is going to do the same again in 2008.

^^Silaanyo lost because it was rigged saxib. Riyaale has been corrupt and needs replacing. Silaanyo 'is' the only option and people are beginning to realise that now including reer galbeedka Burco.

Once you go into the politics world it is hard to give up and give the responsibility to others ,,,, those politicians always think they are the best and no one can beat them until they die ,,,,,,,,,,

Let's not fight in prediction and wait until the election day ,,,, when all these arguments will be finalized ............

With major changes in their leadership and the party could maintain its current supporters plus the new support the party will get from bringing a new candidate who can appeal across the country then Kulmiye will be in a good position to win in the next presidential race. However, that looks too late to happen and Silanyo has already siad that he is unreplaceable.

This also applies to UCID. Remember what Boqor Buurmadow said about Kulmiye and UCID parties. They need to change their leaders, Silaanyo and Waraabe respectively, if they need to challenge UDUB party in the presidential elections.

Roobleh,

Firstly you need to understand that the people didn't all of sudden like Riyaale Kahin to begin with. But the people liked the party which he belonged to. Let us put all this clan talk aside now and discuss how things went and will go down Insha Allah.

For Riyaale Kahin, he belonged into the most popular party in Somaliland at the time, the Udub party. Marxuum Igal gave it that popularity, and all Riyaale had to do was slide into position when the Marxuun past away.

During the reelection, well some people as you said had some problems with Silaanyo and his role in the mid 90s civil wars in Burco, so they leaned more towards the 'other' guy, Riyaale in this sense. He didn't win because he showed good leadership quality or was likeable, but people weren't ready for controversial Siilaanyo as of yet.

Today as it stands, Udub isn't nearly as popular as it use to be and quite franky people have seen what Riyaale is made of, a passive no doer. They demand bit more charismatic leader, and I think there is huge chance of as seeing Siilaanyo victorius in next year's elections. The past is behind us now, if Silaanyo wasn't voted because of his civil controversy then heck Riyaale was NSS Berbera based branch leader. He got elected...anyhow the past is the past, the present and future is what matters the most, who will lead Somaliland now is huge task, Riyaale did so so of a job and most party shaky, now Somaliland needs someone to take it to second level.

Throw all the SNM days out of the window, that is history, and Silaanyo shall not campaign, because 'he is mujaahid' heck that is tired old line. Yeah yeah we know you were an SNM chairman, but what have you done for me lately is the question in every Lander's mind...Silaanyo needs to compaign of what he will do for this young nation.

Faysal Cali waraabe is too extreme and will break our fragile peace, therefore no vote for him, Riyaale...been there, seen it.

I personally would love to see others like ina Jirde, prof. Meygaag Samatar and Cumar Carte Ghalib here, but as it stand we have three option, Udub, Ucid and Kulmiye, my vote is to Kulmiye rest assured.

Edit: man you Udub fans are caught up too much into 'kanaa siyaasi fiican ah etc...I am thinking who will fix the roads, who will lead with example. Yes peace, that we have had for quite while now, we are getting tired of having peace as the only thing in our profile. We need to move up dee, we need to elevete into more of contender of nationhood. You don't do that while your capital doesn't have run way lights at the airports or streets are still dusty or cracked...who will step up, Riyaale aint gonna contract anything. :D

The same challenges that is keeping UDUB to do this are still there and electing Siilaanyo will not change anything ,,,,, that is if you know what i mean :D

UDUB need to change the leadership so that they win the next elections ,,,, Hmmmmm the vice president should be changed without any question ,,,,

As you said, KULMIYE need to change the campaigning policy not to say I WAS MUJAAHID but to focus on what they will do next. The only think i hate about Kulmiye is the hatress, abuse and those mujaahid ku faanfaan when it comes to the elections campaign ,,,,,,, they should stop this and present to the public what they will do.

I don't wanna talk about UCID ,,,,, Let's see if they even pass the municipality elections.
