Mudane Siilaanyo oo kulan balaadhan la yeeshay beesha galbeedka Burco

Recommended Posts

He lost the last elections coz he didn't have enough voters among west-Burco societies and that is why he wants to concentrate this time.

People from West Burco voted indivitually. There is no way in hell one can be certain how each and everyone voted. Besides, Muj. Ahmed Mohamed Silaanyo (may allah protect his soul) lost only by 80 votes (recount increased to 240 votes). We all know that he won, but because of his statesmanship he let it go and gave it to the UDUB vultures to have it. Are you, in your rightmind, going to tell me that 240 votes from West Burao were the reason that Silaanyo lost? I know you are smarter than that.

Besides, I think the dark ages of the 1990s, whatever took place, whatever happened, Somalilanders have moved on. Its water under the bridge folks.

This is a lively discussion, unusually so. JB is explaining things just like humans do, for instance, and not throwing his mechanical replies :D ! I liked it, not only because of my literary mentor, saga Sharmarke, is involved, but also it was departure from sl soler’s closing the rank tendency. Only if the subject, that’s debated here, were more of Somaliland’s strategic direction, and not on a mere political personalities and parties.

Sadex farood iyo suul, ikhyaarta.

Xiinfaniin, I see. I think indeed we should focus more at home. I haven't discuss somaliland politics for so long, that I feel like an alien all of sudden.

Onto Udub fans here, I am still wondering what exactly makes one support Udub nowdays. JB, Roobleh, could you tell us why exactly you support Udub. Don't tell us you settled for them, because the other two parties don't fulfill into your fantasies.

Jacaylow, saaxib what is deal with Qaran, darn it that party has gotten potential if it ever joins the political parties of Somaliland.

Red, what is wrong with Qaran is this guy called Dr. Gaboose. First, he is not fulfuling the Somaliland constitution cuz his great, great grandfather was born outside Somaliland. See, our constitution does not require that much from us other than either you, your father, grandfather, or great grandfather to be born in the country. Unlike the US constitution that requires anyone who wants to run for president to be born in the US.

Second, the reason I support UDUB is simply the party is the one that I am a member of. See, the party of Cigaal has better representation among Somalilanders. It is easier in UDUB to become a candidate for presidential elections unlike the other two. Once Riyaale's term ends in 2013 Insha allah, we will be able to elect someone from the party who is capable to run for President while Silaanyo and Waraabe are still trying to hold on to their positions in their parties. Therefore, UDUB party belongs to all of us, so it is not too late for you, Mr. RED, to join UDUB and run in their ticket for the 2013 elections.

I'm not a member of Udub and i don't want to be in the near future ,, i would rather be analyzing the politics and make sure to know who is capable of what ,,,,,,

As said, let's forget and not talk about the 90's saga and incidents and focus on the current issues.

Any how, Burco is now the political battle ground for all the three parties ,,,,, Kulmiye is doing a little progress but Udub won't let it go that easily as heavy delegation is already there ,,,,,,,,,, Let's see who is winning in that ground.

As for Qaran, it is for the public to elect them but Dr. Gaboose doesn't have that political popularity in Somaliland ,,, the majority want him to be a doctor and not a politician but he is insisting ,,,,,,,,, there are rumours that he will join KUlmiye soon but let's see if it is true or not.

I don't directly support UDUB but according to my observations they are the best for the moment coz of their political structure and the political figures ,,, but they will be even more better if they change the Vice President who is still in my useless list.

Why Udub? Red Sea? Lets see

Kulmiye: SNM this, SNM that.

Ucid: Psycho who believes killing the people in the east who Joined Puntland will get this runaway provence recognized is the leader.

Udub: We may not get any where, but lets use reason and value tolarence and equality.

Question is why not Udub?

I have not discussed Somaliland politics in ages but i feel like its time to throw my two cents worth into this one.

First and foremost, those Somalilanders who feel that the conducts of some candidates in the mid 90's civil wars should be trudged up to discredit those candidates, i urge you brothers and sisters for the good our nation and its credibility to lay those issue to rest and concenrate on the more current issue affecting the development of our nation.

I dont have a fervent support for anybody so far in the upcoming elections but i am leaning towards UDUB. This hasnt got anyting to do with what leader i support but has more to do with the principle of representativeness. In this area UDUB tends to stand out from the others and i must say that i believe it is why it one the election last time. UDUB has representatives from almost all of the regions of Somaliland and the fact that their leader does not hail from the major clan of Somaliland certainly helped last time around. His incompetency does however take that initiative away as people now know what he is like.

UDUB now has to deal with its record in the past 4 years which has been steady but not progressive which is what Somalilanders back home want.

I think our people back home are intelligent enough to decide for themselves what key issues they need adressing and can decide which candidates policies and attitudes have the best credibility in achieving those

good discusion, but lets get to the poin here, in somaliland we have pretty useless and over bloated government, made worse by the useless and innept so called 'wasiiro'who swanp around the small pond of revenue this small nation generate and build lovely villas.

now this may not sound too suprising after all that what a typical african government is, but the citizens of somaliland dont usually settle for the ttypical' even if it breaks their backs.

so its time some serious pressure is applied to these useless crooks who are after all public servants, but behave like Royalty.

I really dont see the Effing Point of Giving UDUB another bloody term, the problem seems to be that the opposition is not fit for government, because the other two parties sometimes behave like fanatical gorilla rebel (by the way this statement has nothing to do with the Honourable freedom fighters of SNM) rather than political party with policies and wide appeall to both majority and monority groups.

i would love to see KULMIYE elected but am not sure about the Silaanyo of 2007 and if he is really capable of stable head of state, so maybe its time Kulmiye change the front door if they dont want be seen as party stuck in past and elect youndger more vibrant and less baggage than silaanyo,

while UCID (LICUD) seems well organised and pretty well runed party but they seem to have smaller appeall and are not there yet but maybe one for the future, i also dont like their Socialist policies they seem to copy from scandanavian countries.

Very good and interesting points ,,,, i think i agree with you most of the points you said here.

UCID would be more effective if they change the leadership of this crazy guy, Faysal. It seems that he owns the party and there have been no other candidates as far as i know. We could give a try to the scandanavian policies only if there is a more trusted leadership of UCID.

As i said before, KULMIYE is living in the past and i don't think they'll do much better unless they come to live at this moment. All these qaylo, insults and name-calling are not the wise political campaign they should do. It seems they cause their loss and they'll cry later.

UDUB needs to change the Vice president only ,,, if they bring better than Rayaale would be even better ,,,,,,,,,,, but they have strong and quilified figures that can do a lot only if the corruption is contaminated.

i think silaanyo seems to be obsessed with getting one particuler clan to vote for him, since he lost the last election he seems to have put all the reasons for losing at the feet of this clan.

and since then he seems to have been on personal crusade to win their vote, but the funny think that particuler community are well known for their lets says "independant mind" and to be honest never really do anything as one, and i think he is wasting his time by thinking he can get them to all vote vote for him, because the be honest the ones that live in west burco aint the same as the one in hargeisa or ceerigabo or anywhere else.

so instead of concentrating on tribal politics, people like silaanyo should concentrate on local village politics, and appeal to REER BURCO, REER HARGEISA REER AWDAL, REER CEERIGABO i this that more appealing than clan politics.

Fact of the matter is no one receives anything outside of Hargaisa. No educational/welfare programmes by NGOs etc. This will play a big role in the decision to vote. Who ever recognises this and promises to change things will get the vote.

The current government is doing a lot in this issue ,,,, they put a big presure on the NGOs and other UN partners to work in those areas ,,,, it seems they succeeded a lil bit and a lot of NGOs are working in those areas now
