Koora-Tuunshe Posted April 8, 2008 I like this new political approach taken by India. India is also said to be trying to counter the influence of China, which is building ties with African countries that are traditionally close to India. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7335882.stm
Ibtisam Posted April 8, 2008 Traditionally India and Pakistan have competed with African countries for primary commodity export. After effectively locking them out of the international market, what exactly can they do for Africa with this new ties. On second same goes for China. Both want Africa as a market for the cheap products, so they can use it as a dumping ground rather than anything for the Africans benefit. On third thought, if China and India modernize to western ways (like drinking coffee etc) they may benefit Africa by absorbing more primary commodities... that is fi they don't produce for their own consumption.
