Ibtisam Posted November 30, 2007 ^^Or maybe just getting old. The women and the guy are as bad as each other, they both believed in the same thing, he married her with that condition, did not take it off all those years, so really wuu walaanyah. But hey what ever turns their pages, who are we to approve.
Che -Guevara Posted November 30, 2007 Johny,I thought the longer one stays in the west, the less attractive the women get. I was sure that would explained something. I guess I was wrong.
Johnny B Posted November 30, 2007 ^that you're wrong is not new , its more or less a tradition. Ghanima, you're taking sides , Though wrong from the get go, the man atleast did try it, he did dare look at who he's been sharing a bed with in the eyes. its she who for a weird reason wanna keep things secret, maybe she got a pimple or two. Paragon Posted December 1, 2007 Beautiful tradition that should be kept alive and protected. The world is fighting to impose uniformity on all these different, yet fascinating traditions, and make them abide by the laws of exhibitionism . I don't think it's the wife's fault to seek divorce for the single fact that the husband has subscribed to the preservation of this tradition, and had done so for the last 30 years. If he thought he'd be overcome by temptation then he shouldn't have entered into the marriage in the first place. She has a right to ask for divorce and also inheritance of halve of his wealth. Xoogsade Posted December 1, 2007 Well, J.11, only a man conditioned by the same tradition can bear the experience of living with a wife whose face has to be shielded from him forever. Like someone hinted above, it is hard to enjoy the wife's company if you don't know what she looks like. It is perfectly fine with the men of that community considering the endurance of the tradition, but to many of us, this is definitely weird. Without a face there can be no love. Even for the many somali men who are attracted to the somali women with the facial veil, they look forward to ripping that off at the wedding night. That is the prize. What is the point if there is no exclusive privellege for the husband and like the rest of the men he doesn't get to see his wife's face forever? Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if some men in that community didn't come up with some ingenious ways of seeing the face without drawing the wife's ire, like dropping something in her shiisha to knock her out cold
