Armed clan assailants attack Bosaso central police station

Armed assailants on Wednesday attacked Bosaso’s main police station.

The reason for the armed assailants launched an attack on the police station is to forcibly take weapons that Puntland security forces recently confiscated in an operation.

Security agencies confirmed that clash ensued between the armed assailants and Puntland police which resulted the death of one person from the armed assailants.

Security forces stationed in Bosaso main police station repulsed the attack which led the armed assailants to retreat.

Puntland deployed additional troops to prevent any attempts to take the weapons.

The incident occurred while Puntland President Saed Deni is currently in Bosaso.
