I was in Xamar last October. I was in Yàaqshiid where AS had presence. They have always been in and around Xamar. They're just more visible now.

Daljir is reporting 3 of the 5 bridges serving Xamar are now under al Shabab's control.

I think this is mimicking taliban style takeover and given what I'm hearing, something is brewing.
