The Call for Islam

Musharraf is currently in a very weak position because a number of events highlight the loss of confidence he has with in the influential people in Pakistan namely the Pakistan military. A recent judgement by the Anti Terrorism Court to rule against the government to convict a member of a well known political party that calls for the re-establishment of the Khilafah ruling system to enable to the resumption the Islamic Way of Life.

 

This ruling by the military court is significant because its ruling is a smack in the face of Musharraf who has used propaganda against this political group to label it terrorist when this court clearly found the accused not as such. The significance is that this court went against the wishes of its commander in chief signifying the inherent distrust that has developed within the military against Musharraf.

 

The call for Khilafah has become a thorn in the side of Musharraf because it is completely the opposite of what he wishes to impose in Pakistan, he wishes Pakistan to abandon the Quran and Sunnah completely so that it can live by a system that is Kufr. This system that he wants for Pakistan has caused misery for the people it currently governs; we can look to the West for numerous examples.

 

The West on an individual basis is categorised by it drunken yob culture where the dignified values that Islam brings are replaced with immorality and disobedience. On a political level we find the inherent problems that such a system brings that of privatisation of public services has seen a transportation system that is ridiculed, health services that do not provide for the poor, excessive increases in the cost of utilities etc…

 

Musharraf sees that this call of Islam is a threat to his existence and therefore we see the propaganda against Islam as a system to solve our problems and the western model enforced on the people. Fearing the rising of awareness of Islam as a complete way of life, a system that has its own unique Economic, Social, Judicial, Educational systems he has resorted to imprisonment of those who wish to enlighten the Ummah of this noble system.

 

This has not gone unnoticed by the Muslims nor the military that seeks to protect it, it sees the selling of Pakistan to the interests of America and its agenda for the region in which it wishes to raise India as a rival superpower to China so as to limit the influence China can have and not challenge the America’s status as the worlds leading superpower. To enable this it needs India to focus on this rather than the hostility between Pakistan hence we have the push for selling Kashmir.

 

Musharraf does not see any opposition to his plans from the existing political establishment because regardless of the certain Islamic slogans they may use they have the same infatuation with the western system and do not call for the complete overhaul of the system. It is only those that present Islam as a clear alternative to this system are the threat to Musharraf’s western inspired agenda for Pakistan hence we see the recent arrests in Pakistan of those that call for the Khilafah.

 

Musharraf is a liability for the Muslims and the Muslims are clear that no longer is it just the ruler but the system he wishes to implement that is the problem therefore it is clear to see that Musharraf needs to be replaced and the Khilafah established in his place.
