Somaliland’s Health Workers Undergo Birth Registration Training

Somaliland has made significant achievement in advancing child rights and legal identity through the Child-Sensitive Social Protection program by offering Birth Registration Training for its health workers.

By completing a 3-day Birth Registration Training for health workers and civil registration staff across 14 districts, has taken crucial steps toward ensuring that children have access to legal recognition, which is fundamental for their protection, access to services, and future opportunities.

The collaboration with BMZ and KfW highlights the importance of international partnerships in supporting such initiatives.

Birth registration is a cornerstone of legal identity, and this effort will undoubtedly contribute to reducing statelessness, improving access to education and healthcare, and safeguarding children’s rights.
