Garowe (PP News Desk) — Nugaal Police yesterday arrested several people suspected of being members of a terrorist organisation. The Governor of Nugaal, Abdirahman Abshir Farah, told the media that “suspects believed to be members of Al-shabaab were arrested at checkpoints. during security inspection.”

The Governor said that investigations will determine whether a suspect will be charged for terrorism. Nugaal Police Division are conducting enhanced searches at checkpoints following a directive from Puntland State government to raise preparedness for response to terrorist plans during the counterterrorism operations against ISIS in Calmiskaad mountains.
