Defending Transparency and Accountability: An Investigative Somalia – Turkey Agreements and Public Servant’s Pledge

Despite constitutional mandates requiring transparency and legislative oversight, the President has consistently refused to disclose these agreements to the Council of Ministers, the Federal Parliament, or Somali citizens. Determined to uncover the truth, I have obtained critical documents from whistleblowers within the Villa Somalia Office of the Economic Advisor to the President. These documents include:

  •     Favori LLC Agreement
  •     Defense Agreement – (Due to Security Concerns will not be Published)
  •     Ziraat Bank - Certified Memorandum and Articles of Association submitted to the Central Bank of Somalia (CBS)
  •     Fisheries Concessions
  •     Petroleum Concessions

These agreements, signed in secrecy, bypass essential oversight mechanisms and undermine the principle of accountability enshrined in Somali governance. I feel a profound moral obligation to share these documents with Somali citizens, allowing them to understand the decisions made on their behalf and to form their own judgments.

To ensure a thorough and impartial review, I am hiring Somali lawyers based in Mogadishu to analyze these documents comprehensively. Their findings will form the foundation of investigative reports, which I will publish - alongside the full text of these agreements - on my public platforms, including Twitter. This transparency is critical to fostering trust and empowering Somali citizens to demand accountability from their government.

My investigation has not been without challenges. I have received direct threats aimed at silencing me, but I refuse to be intimidated. The oath I swore and the values I hold dear compel me to continue this work. I owe it to the Somali people to shine a light on any attempts to compromise their sovereignty, resources, and future.

This commitment is deeply personal. My late father, a staunch defender of justice and good governance for over 40 years, set a powerful example of integrity and courage. His unwavering stance against corruption and mismanagement continues to inspire me. Following in his footsteps, I am honored to carry forward his legacy by standing for truth, justice, and the rule of law without fear or compromise.

Despite attempts to deter me, I have been heartened by the overwhelming support from Somali citizens who encourage and stand with me in this oversight mission. This collective determination strengthens my resolve to deliver on my responsibilities. Together, we will hold those in power accountable, ensuring that governance in Somalia aligns with the principles of transparency, legality, and public trust.

Let this be a reminder that no one is above the law, and no agreement, policy, or action should ever be hidden from the people it affects. For the love of Somalia and its people, I will not stop until justice and accountability prevail.

President HSM is in  a big mess. The management of the state in terms of policy had some setbacks', especially the Ethiopian file.

The only way to salvage the remaining year and half is to appoint a new government to engage Jubbaland and Puntland. As expected, the blame will go to the premier. I expect a new premier before the end of the month. That is possible if HSM want to  shake things up, but conventional wisdom says they will sink together.

It is highly unlikely Xasan will change course, as he is convinced he is on the right path, and his supporters are roaring him to keep it up. Hamza is rather naive by nature, with no experience in governance, or functions of state institutions.
