Sky Posted January 2, 2007 The interim government will invite the genuine and honest elements of the UIC (Sheikh Sharif calibre) to join the rebuilding of a broken nation. The interim government with the help of the International Community will stabilize Somalia and reinstate a working government apparatus (Puntland, Somaliland standard) till the elections in 2009. Hopefully 2010 will be the official start of Somalia's rebirth with massive investments and large-scale development programmes. Insha Allah.
Ahmed_Guree Posted January 2, 2007 Somalilanders what do you see in the merger btw Somalia and Ethiopia?
Jacaylbaro Posted January 2, 2007 I think the ethiopians will leave but other african troops will replace them ,,,, then some of the ICU leaders will sign a deal with the TFG i mean the moderate ones ,,,,, the other african troops will do what Ethiopia was supposed to do but the population will be happy that Ethiopia finally left which can make the situation more calm ,,,,,,,,, A/Lahi Yusuf is likely to be assasinated soon ,,,, there will be a little confusion at first but things will be calm again ,,,,,, more international aid is expected during this period ,,,,, mogadishu will be peaceful although there will be some suicide attacks ,,,,,,,, should i continue ???? Ahmed_Guree Posted January 2, 2007 I mean what do you feel about this merger Aweys Osman Yusuf Mogadishu 02, Jan.07 ( Sh.M.Network) -Somalia’s internal affairs minister and assistant prime Minster, Hussein Mohammed Farah Aideed, who has convened with tribal elders at former presidential house (Villa Somalia) in Mogadishu, said his government intends to wipe out the boundaries between Somalia and Ethiopia. Husein Aideed He said 60% of 2 millions Somali refugees live in Ethiopia and use Ethiopian passports. “Ethiopia and Somalia have 2,000 kilometers between them. The two Shabelle and Jubba rivers in Somalia come from Ethiopia. Now we need to eliminate the boundaries between us because we are brothers, and we will use one passport”, he said. He said Ethiopia was the only country that was determined to set up a state in Somalia after more than years of without government. “No country in the world cared about Somalia”, he said. He urged tribal leaders to support the government and the Ethiopian troops in the country. Aideed, the son of a former warlord Gen. Mohammed Farah Aideed, has also indicated that the government will completely move to the capital Mogadishu. The minister’s remarks came as Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Gedi officially announced that the country’s airport and seaport were open starting Wednesday in a press conference he held in his house, north of Mogadishu.
