General Duke Posted July 22, 2006 1..The famous warlords of Mogadishu used to get the people excited by saying "the Amharo are coming", "Ethiopia is coming to kill us"....Remember Musa Sudi and Qaynyare not long ago, were the champions of the anti Amhara groups in Mogadishu...The same propoganda but different players.. 2. Today we have YusufInda Cade [security boss], who is now claiming he will attack Adis Ababa, with what? Xasan Dahir wants to discuss the occupied region of ******. Yet ignores the actions of his kin. Has anyone seen any Ethiopians?, the answer is '"someone on the ground reported" ' any pictures? , of course not, what matters is that the BBC reports it over and over again, Horn Afrik repaets, Shabbele ads some spice, and we all go bananas. It seems Ethiopia, Amharo, Tigray, call them what you want are the new motivational method to get the people excited.........

raadamiir Posted July 22, 2006 KINSHASA, Congo, July 21 — The transitional government in Somalia emphatically denied Friday that Ethiopian troops had come to rescue it, saying that the Islamic clerics who rule Somalia’s capital were spreading false rumors to create chaos. Mohammed Abdi Hayir, minister of information for the transitional government, said, “There are absolutely no Ethiopian troops in Somalia.†He said the confusion came from the fact that Ethiopia had provided 4,000 uniforms to Somali forces guarding the fledging government. “Some people have seen this and they think that Ethiopian soldiers are surrounding them, but it’s actually our forces,†he said. “This has all been exaggerated. The Islamist clerics are trying to create confusion worldwide.†There are two powers vying for control of Somalia: Islamic clerics whose forces recently outgunned American-backed warlords for control of Mogadishu, the ruined capital, and a shaky transitional government, aided by the United Nations but with so little power that it cannot survive in Mogadishu and is instead based in Baidoa, a midsize city about 150 miles away. On Friday, clerics in Mogadishu continued to insist that Somalia had been invaded and unleashed a barrage of warlike threats on the radio. Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, the hard-line leader of the Islamic Courts Union, told people to get ready for a holy war against Ethiopia, which is a primarily Christian country. Somalia is almost entirely Muslim, and the two cultures have been rivals for centuries and fought a costly war in 1970’s. “We must defend our sovereignty,†Sheik Aweys said. “I am calling on the Somali people to wage a jihad.†Talk like this put many Somalis on edge. In Mogadishu, people emerged from Friday Prayer chanting, “Down with Ethiopia!†At the Abu Hureira mosque, a young sheik told the crowd in front of him, “The enemy of God has invaded Somalia.†He instructed his listeners to defend “their religion and their soil.†In Baidoa, the transitional government imposed a nighttime curfew while its soldiers began searching cars on the street. Groups of men were rounded up and arrested, though several were released. Earlier this week Somalis reported seeing Ethiopian Army trucks and hundreds of soldiers in uniform streaming across the border and taking up positions in Baidoa. There were even reports that a column of Ethiopian troops was advancing east toward Mogadishu at the same time that Islamic militias, fresh from a string of victories, were streaming west toward Baidoa. Officials in Ethiopia have openly supported the transitional government of Somalia, siding with it as a bulwark against Muslim expansion that could threaten Ethiopia’s fragile internal politics. Ethiopia, along with several other countries, is providing military advisers and equipment to the Somali politicians in Baidoa, but Ethiopian leaders continue to deny that they sent troops across the border. Somalia is still mostly inaccessible, with communication spotty and many areas too dangerous for foreigners to travel. United Nations officials in Africa and Defense Department officials in Washington said Friday that it was unclear to them whether Ethiopia had actually invaded Somalia, or if indeed the whole episode was a mix-up over uniforms. Mark Mazzetti contributed reporting from Washington for this article, and Ahmed Mohammed from Mogadishu, Somalia.

Xoogsade Posted July 22, 2006 Dharka Amxaarada ha iska bixiyaan marka, That distant association is as bad. Soomalida ma jecla Amxaaro so anything to distance the TFG from their masters should be tried. Nin Amxaar alla baday wax ka liito ma jiraan runtii. Amxaaro hakuu soo labisto shows who you are. If this TFG leadership had nothing to hide and they were interested in peace talks with others, all these unnecessary arguments wouldn't have happened. The TFG sided with the warlords and welcomed them, they boycotted the Sudan meetings because they were unhappy with Abdi Qeybdiid's defeat in Muqdisho as publicly stated by Ina Ceydiid and Geddi, A/Y dined with the warlord and travelled with him to Mudug and said nothing. They constantly look for disputes with others when there should be none. They are concerned with power and greed so anything that threatens their absolute grip on power is not welcome in their book. So how can all these facts about these corrupt men scape from your observation if you were honest Mr.Nation? Even if these ethiopian troops turn out to be false, the TFG is effectively isolated from Muqdisho and environs. So what are they gonna do if they don't agree with the courts? They can't wage a war on a region that don't want them, staying put on Baydhabo won't work ultimately, they won't disband and accept defeat. Anyway you look at the situation, the only option for the TFG is to wage a war on people. That won't solve anything but will prolong the suffering of people because no one will submit to these thugs and in the end after much death adn destracton, they will go. So how long do we have to deal with these murderous men?
General Duke Posted July 22, 2006 Xoogsade be fair, both sides are interested in power and greed. Xasan Dahir, IndaCade are right now occupaying lands of fellow Somali's, and then claim to be holly warriors.. I do love how the news media of Mogadishu will never report on this occupation but concentrate on the myth of Amhara, while all along protecting the farms, lands and areas their kinsmen illegaly control. This cry wolf of Shabbele.com/Horn/Afrik and Yusuf Garad, is pathetic. Was it not a few weeks ago we had this charade, do you want us to belive this nonsence? This routine is getting boring, there is no evidance and no one has seen Ethiopian with their own eyes, we hear secondary accounts by people in certain villages... Gabbal Posted July 22, 2006 Somali Islamist orders 'holy war' A Somali Islamist leader has ordered a "holy war" to drive out Ethiopian troops, after they entered the country to protect the weak interim government. "I am calling on the Somali people to wage a holy war against Ethiopians in Somalia, " said Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys of the Union of Islamic Courts. Ethiopia denies that its forces are in the government's base of Baidoa, but a BBC reporter has seen them patrolling. The UIC took control of the capital, Mogadishu, last month. Since then it has consolidated its power over much of southern Somalia. But Ethiopia is strongly opposed to the Islamists and has repeatedly warned that it will send its army into Somalia if the interim government is attacked. On Wednesday, Islamist militiamen were reported to have advanced to within 60km (37 miles) of Baidoa. They have since withdrawn and deny planning to attack the town. Ethiopia has been a long-term ally of President Abdullahi Yusuf and in the 1990s helped him defeat an Islamist militia led by Mr Aweys. Speaking on national radio station Shabelle, Mr Aweys accused President Yusuf of being "a servant of Ethiopia for a long time". The BBC's Mohammed Olad Hassan in Baidoa says the town is calm and a curfew has been imposed. Clapping In the capital, thousands of people participated in what was called a peace demonstration to show how the city had been transformed in the last month under Mogadishu's new rulers. Correspondents say a convoy of some 500 cars travelled from one side of Mogadishu to another without passing through any checkpoints, which until last month dominated the city. Mogadishu's residents have lived through 15 years of anarchy as rival warlords divided up the capital into separate fiefdoms. Crowds gathered at the sides of the roads and clapped and waved branches as the vehicles passed by. They also chanted anti-Ethiopian slogans during the demonstration, urging the Ethiopian troops to withdraw from Baidoa. Our correspondent says peace talks in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, where a UIC delegation has been waiting for over a week for the government, look even more unlikely to take place. The UIC's head of security has said the talks will be cancelled if Ethiopian forces did not leave Somali soil. Mr Aweys has denied US claims that he is linked to terrorism. He has been on the US list of people "linked to terrorism" since shortly after the 9/11 attacks in 2001. A UN report earlier this year said that Mr Aweys had been getting significant military aid from Ethiopia's rival, Eritrea - a claim Eritrea has denied. raadamiir Posted July 22, 2006 Xoogsade don't blind yourself brother. Everyone knows the History of War-lord YusufInda Cade and Xasan Dahir we weren't born yesterday!!! People like Yusuf Inda Cade and Xasan Dahir don't deserve to be on the same table with any TFG leader. They can use all the Propaganda in the World and brainwash Reer Mogdishu but that's as far as they can get. Even with the biggest Media in Somalia the BBC on their side they still will not win. What they have to understand is Somalia is not just Mogdishu.
Xoogsade Posted July 22, 2006 The reports are too many to discreedit and from many different sources and towns in the border areas. The latest is on SOL'S fron page news Ethiopian soldiers enter 2nd Somali town By MOHAMED OLAD HASSAN, Associated Press Writer 9 minutes ago BAIDOA, Somalia - Ethiopian troops trying to protect Somalia's weak government moved into a second Somali town before dawn Saturday, seizing control of an airport, witnesses and aid workers said. ADVERTISEMENT About 200 Ethiopian troops with at least five pickup trucks mounted with machine guns and other vehicles moved into Wajid at about 3 a.m. The soldiers took control of the town's airport from a militia serving the local administration, said several witnesses who spoke on condition of anonymity because they feared reprisals. It was not clear if the Ethiopian troops encountered any resistance. Aid workers and U.N. staff in the town also said there were Ethiopian soldiers in Wajid, 46 miles southeast of the border with Ethiopia. They also asked not to be identified by name because of the sensitivity of the issue. Ethiopian troops first moved into Somalia on Thursday to protect the U.N.-backed interim government, which has been challenged for power by Islamic radicals who have taken control of the capital, Mogadishu. General Duke Posted July 22, 2006 ^^^Same Shabbele reports translated in English, even Jini-Boqor sated he did not see Ethiopian troops in Baiodoa and the dude resides in the place. Now we get them patrooling the city? A flight of fantasy if you ask me...If Ethiopian troops came into Somalia they would be in Balidogle by now.. Thats the best defence... Xoogsade Posted July 22, 2006 If it turns out to be false, that is good. That is what we want, No ethiopian army to create unnecessary conflicts. That is the bottom line. With that said, still, the TFG has a problem. Nation Muqdisho equates Somalia to those who care about it. Nabad halaga helo the TFG. That is all people over there need. The TFG can go settle where it is welcome. Yaa raba dhibkooda to begin with?
