Somaliland’s President-elect meets with US Ambassador and AFRICOM Commander

The President-elect of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilaahi (Irro), today received the US Ambassador Amb. Richard H. Riley and the Commander of AFRICOM, Major General Brian Cashman. First, the US Ambassador conveyed a message of congratulations from his country to the President-elect of the Republic of Somaliland.

The two sides then discussed in detail the deep relationship between Somaliland & the United States and how to strengthen that relationship.
The President-elect of Somaliland expressed to the US government his readiness to further strengthen that relationship.
The US Ambassador was accompanied by senior US military officials in Africa.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland was accompanied by the Vice President-elect of Somaliland, Amb. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, and the Special Secretary to the President-elect, Abdikadir Salah Iidle.
