Death toll rises to 28 in Madagascar boat disaster; Somalia works to bring survivors home

Mogadishu (HOL) —The death toll in the November 23 migrant boat disaster off Madagascar has risen to 28, Somali officials confirmed Tuesday. Forty-seven survivors, including 26 women and 31 young men, remain housed in a sports facility on Nosy Be Island, where they await repatriation as Somalia works closely with Malagasy authorities to bring its citizens home.
