March 04, 2007 09:38 am.- By Mohamed Abdi Farah. - Send this news article (SomaliNet) The Egyptian foreign minister, Ahmed Abul Gheyt, said on Sunday that his government is ready to help Somalia to build its governmental institutions, the Egyptian media reports. The announcement followed a visit by the Somali’s foreign minister Ismael Mohamud Hure known ‘Buba’ who had talks with his Egyptian counterpart. Both leaders who met in the Egyptian capital of Cairo discussed over how to develop and reconstruct war-torn country, Somalia. Abul Gheyt assured his Somali counterpart that Egypt was firmly standing by the Somali transitional government, adding that his government would take part in helping the Somali people out of the crisis. During the talks, Mr. Buba briefed the Egyptian government about the political, social and economical issues in Somalia and the efforts by the TFG towards pacifying the opposing sides in the country. Abul Gheyt, commended the Somalia government over its plans of holding nation wide reconciliation conference. Somali foreign minister, Buba, explained the political events and the tense situation in his country, expressing how the Somali government was determined in attempting to establish peace and security in the country. The minister promised that Egypt would use its resources and in cooperation with the rest of African countries, it would play affective roles in rebuilding Somalia's ruined ministries and train Somali diplomats who would be involved in the ministries. The gathering in Cairo was between Ahmed Abul Geyt, the foreign minister of Middle Eastern Arab nation of Egypt and Somali's interim government foreign affairs and international cooperation minister Isma'il Moahmud Hurre Buba. Sources close to the meeting say the two officials talked about developing and rebuilding of the war-ravaged and chaotic state of Somalia. Speaking with the reporters after the meeting Abul Geyt said Egypt is completely stands a side with Somalia and will supports Somalis to get out of in 16 years of anarchy and lawless in their country. "Egypt will play a big and key role of rebuilding Somalia and will fund the national reconciliation process in the failed state of Somalia" Abul Geyt said in the talks with Somali FM. The Egyptian FM also said how the interim Somali government is making the national reconciliation process adding the move will lead Somalia peace and stability after years of violence. Earlier Egypt has reportedly offered to provide transport to countries sending troops to Somalia, which has lacked an effective central authority since the 1991 ouster of military strongman Mohamed Siad Barre.
