As Somaliland approaches a pivotal moment in its history, the choice between two distinct leaders—Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Cirro and President Muse Bihi Abdi—could not be starker. Recent interviews and public addresses have highlighted the contrasting approaches of these leaders regarding leadership, unity, and their vision for the future.

In a widely circulated interview, Dr. Abdirahman Cirro exemplified the qualities of a leader truly dedicated to the nation’s well-being. His thoughtful and forward-looking responses reflect an understanding of the deep-seated issues facing Somaliland. Dr. Cirro’s calm demeanor and focus on reconciliation showcase a leadership style that heals rather than inflicts wounds.

Conversely, President Muse Bihi’s recent interview with the BBC revealed his inability to account for his administration’s failings. When confronted with critical questions about the Las Anod conflict and military setbacks, Bihi’s evasive responses indicated a troubling lack of accountability and understanding of the situation’s gravity.

President Muse Bihi’s speech in Burco on October 28 disheartened many Somalilanders. Instead of promoting unity, his words were filled with division and disrespect towards the traditional leadership of the East Burco Clan clan. By undermining a key pillar of Somaliland’s peace-building efforts, Bihi alienated rather than bridged divides.

In stark contrast, Dr. Abdirahman Cirro’s approach is characterized by calm, inclusive leadership. He has articulated concrete plans for addressing Somaliland’s pressing issues, from political reform to effective governance. Cirro respects traditional leadership and views critics as part of the democratic dialogue necessary for progress.

Somaliland’s current administration has faltered in multiple areas, leaving citizens yearning for change. The failures of President Muse Bihi’s leadership are evident in his inability to provide a cohesive vision for the future, particularly regarding the Sool region.

Dr. Abdirahman Cirro represents a refreshing alternative with his inclusive vision and clear plans for the future. He seeks to foster a Somaliland where all voices are heard and valued, emphasizing the importance of collective unity and service.

As the November 13, 2024 election approaches, Somaliland faces a critical choice between a leadership of division and one of vision and unity. The stakes are high, and the nation cannot afford another term marked by broken promises and divisive rhetoric.

𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

The time has come for Somaliland to embrace a new era of leadership—one that values traditional wisdom, accountability, and national unity. By voting for Dr. Abdirahman Cirro, Somalilanders will choose a future defined by peace, hope, and opportunity. Let us reject the politics of division and choose a leader who will unite our nation and guide us toward a brighter future.
