Curly Posted November 8, 2003 Tribute to Abd Al Rahman Tour Abd Al Rahman Tour was the first president of Somaliland, when Somaliland became independent in 1990. Last night Abd Al Rahman Tour passed away (may Allah have mercy on his soul) in his home in London, after being severely ill for several months hid death was expected. Early 80s before he left the diplomatic service to join the SNM movement. Indeed, this fine, human being will truly be missed just like his late brother, father of education Mahmud Ahmed Ali.. Gediid Posted November 11, 2003 I remember seeing Abdirahman when he was SNM rep in london and later as SNM foreign Sectratary.He was a man who said little but did a lot.He will be remembered for how he passed on the reins of power after the election of 1993 something uncharacteristic of an African politician.I wish him eternal peace and my deepest condolance to his family.
