No to the tripartite plot: Islamist Government soon to come

Recommended Posts

Last month (March) was fraught with controversial but decisive events that have had the cumulative effect to pave the way for the total demise of the Wahabi TFG, as it stands, under Sheikh Sharif, and to strengthen and unify the Islamist insurgents in the near future. The tripartite group (Ethiopia, Kenya and America) has finalized the strategy of pushing the country over the cliff – dragging the bleeding nation back to the disastrous warlord era of 2006 under the assumed name of Ahlu Sunna wal Jama. In their eyes there is no quantifiable difference between the Wahabi TFG and the Wahabi insurgents (of Harkatu Al Mujahidiin of Al Shabab and Hisbul – Islam) except the latter are revolutionary nationalists with no Ethiopian connection.

The courtesy visit of the TFG president to No. 10 Downing street which could have been helpful to the president stands to be another wasteful visit, the putting of Alshabab on the terrorist books in the West and hopefully in the Arab league too as per Banki Moon’s request, the signing of power-sharing agreement, initiated by Meles Zenawi, in Addis between Ahlu Sunna (cross worshiping army) and the TFG, the reinforcement of extra thousand troops to AMISOM contingent, the opening of southern front with Kenyan recruited troops under the command of officers who are accountable to Ethiopia and Kenya, the controversial report of the UN monitoring group on Somalia, the security council’s decision to throw out the shadowy maritime agreement between the TFG and Kenya, the pirates strangle hold on Mogadishu, the demolition of the abused tombs of the righteous clergy, the Puntland and TFG talks in Addis, the incursion of Ethiopian forces in Hiiaran, Gedo and Bakool regions, the on-and-off American involvement (Drones) in Somalia civil war, the return of the warlords through the person of Mr. Abdishakur (head of Ahlu Sunna national salvation army) are the new add-ons that March has offered as consolation to the already mystified politics of the failed state. As such, this article would look into the ramifications of this unusual cluster of events will have on the stagnant political spectrum of Somalia.

The Mogadishu Front: Multi contending factions in play

1. TFG Faction: Wahabist VS secularists

The commander in chief and the political commissar of the TFG paramilitary is no other then the president who time and again demonstrated lack of the ability to grow into the shoes of proper state president – he acts and thinks as if he is still the figurehead of the rudimentary umbrella organisation of the now defunct Islamic Courts Union of 2006. The veneration and endorsement of military professionalism, chain of command, separation of duties, to lead by example, and the likes which are the make or break factors that are the basis to the building and subsequently running successful modern state army is sadly not in his dictionary as manifested by the UN sanctions Somalia Monitoring Group.

His contentment of overseeing corruption of colossal magnitude as exposed by the recent UN report – siphoning food aid away from the poor destitute people and the sale of visas by his government didn’t help him at all. The shadowy agreement ceding Somalia’s continental shelf to Kenya that was thrown out by the UN Security Council took away the last iota of patriotism and nationalism the TFG president would have otherwise waived in the faces of his countrymen. The so called moderate Islamist president and his ARS faction helped themselves in building up their bank accounts in Malaysia under pseudonyms and achieved to escalate the number of civilians in IDP camps in the vicinity of Mogadishu.

The Sharif‘s Wahabi Islamist faction (ARS Djibouti) are the active members of the TFG that so far failed to clasp their non – Wahabi TFG partners in to the decision making process let alone to entice the other stakeholders in to the fold of the TFG. The ARS members have no seasoned elite among their closed inner circle and are afraid to embrace the proper elite to help them glide through the tough time they found themselves in. Sharif Sakin (The illiterate and corrupt finance Minister) and the scandal prone self – decorated professor Ibi (the fishery Minister) who among his numerous blunders even impersonated the Prime Minister are but the few the president looks for political counsel – during his college days at the Faculty of Education at Lafole, Mr. Ibbi used to spy on fellow students for the Somali Socialist party. It is widely assumed that the logic behind ARS’s shunning from all learned people is nothing more than a psychological trepidation that they may be sidelined or replaced in the near future as they are the weakest group in the TFG. This reminds me of the old adage of the bull with the long horns that chased away the rest of the flock from the shade of the tree and who instead of enjoying his spoils died in the sun guarding the tree – someone will fill the power vacuum and the Islamists seem to be at the forefront of the wanabe candidates.

In defence matters the ARS consult Sheikh warlord Yusuf Indha Cadde (the white eyed priest) who currently holds a sort of a defence portfolio. Warlord Indha Cadde has no known military qualification of the sort that enables him to command an army but rather qualified to switch allegiances at the drop of a hat – he can see from distance which side of the bread is buttered. He is the same guy who invited Al Qaida to Somalia in December 2006 when he was the defence secretary of the then UIC. He is the same warlord who confiscated the lower Shebelle farms from the local peasants and converted them into poppy plantations during the warlord era. He is the only one who laundered his ill gotten wealth in the sacred city of Mecca – he bought tanker fleets that supply the pilgrims with the blessed ZamZam water – nothing stops him and most of the people who are familiar with his character are eagerly waiting to see where he would land on next. He is currently in charge of Habir Gidir clan Militia that are based in a narrow strip between KM4 to Hotel Taleeh, in the South of the city. Very strong and credible rumours put Warlord Mohamed Dheere (Ex – Mogadishu Mayor) as Security Minister in the forthcoming reshuffle of the TFG government and it is anticipated that this might mark the end of Warlord Yusuf Indha Cadde – the two love to hate each other.

Two months have elapsed since the TFG first announced its intention to over run the Islamists but to the astonishment of every one the Islamists not the TFG are on the offensive and gaining new grounds from the TFG at best or pinning them in their holes at worst. The Islamists to be on the offensive is no surprise at all because the TFG’s paramilitary which are a combination of untrained clan militias and unpaid trained clannish military personnel that have no discipline and who are left to self support themselves in any way in their capacity including but not limited to robbery, rape, sale of arms and ammunitions to the Islamists are no match to the insurgent’s quality foot soldiers. The Islamist fighters believe in Jihad Ideology which makes them a lethal weapon that can shred to pieces the narrow tribalism and mafia politics. Abu Mansur (Mukhtar Roobow) delivered a critical speech putting on the spotlight the shifting concept of Jihad. The speech is in response to the conference held in Dubai and to a well known Sheikh in North America who was Abu Mansur’s mentor who drafted him into the Jihad – please listen to Mukhtar Roobow Speech

The TFG is militarily and politically incapable to launch a successful war to retake Mogadishu as there are no clear strategies in place. Its mandate was to aim to achieve an all inclusive reconciliation talks among the varied stakeholders with the view of creating a conducive environment for multi party voting to take place but not start unwinnable and unending wars to please foreign masters whose goal is the continuation of the Somali blood letting. The TFG paramilitary are most of the time engaged in fighting among themselves over the sharing of the daily loot – extortion from mini bus drivers, transport truck and etc. The recent fighting between the police and the army over the removal of destitute people from Afasione (former Somali Air force Base in Mogadishu) in which scores died and the police spokesperson along with other officers hospitalised shows the hapless state the TFG security forces are in. – the TFG militias often go without food for days due to their corrupt superiors and uncaring government.

2. Mafia group – Anarchist agenda

On the 18th of March, a plot to start all ****** war against Al-Shabab was aborted by the leader of Hizbul Islam. Elders and politicians financed by interest groups (anarchist mafia group) held secret meetings with Sheikh Aweys to convince him to declare a tribal war on Al–Shabab but the leader refused strongly to downgrade his Islamist movement into tribal one. The mafia group are engaged in a negative tribal propaganda against Al-Shabab in which they are painting Al-Shabab as a ******* army that are exacting revenge on the ****** clan in relation to the 1992 massacre of the ******* civilians by the ****** USC. This time, however, things are a bit more complex in that the leader of the Al-shabab forces is an ***** fellow, Mr. Godane, and may not acquiesce to anti-****** vendetta.

3. Ahlu Sunna – Mogadishu wing

There is also yet another group who are out there to recruit fighters from the pool of unemployed youth in Mogadishu to start a new bandit army said to be fighting under the expedient name of Ahlu – Sunna -Mogadishu wing. Their call for arms revolves around defending the grave yards of the reverend clerics from the Wahabi grave diggers (Al – Shabab). Mr. Bashir Rage (2006 Anti terrorist warlord coalition) and Sheikh Samow are among the men who are behind this movement and they were also behind the staged anti Al-Shabab demonstration held near Villa Somalia. Well placed sources confirmed that they are in the process of picking a leader for the Ahlu Sunna Mogadishu wing, if it at all it reaches a take- off stage. Nonetheless, they lack a robust policy to appeal to the living masses other than fallaciously weeping over nonliving bones that the new generations were taught by the Wahabi Madras’s teachers to look down. The candidacy of Warlord Rage is ruled out because of his history of massacre and sale of the clergy to Ethiopia and the former US government but Surprisingly Sheikh Abdiqadir Samow (most famous Muduloog tribe Sheikh) is prepared to become a figurehead while Warlord Bashir Rage and his likes will be calling for the shots from behind the screen – an unholy alliance. Sheikh Abdiqadir Samow participated, four days after the orchestrated demonstration, a conference attended by the proper Ahlu Sunna Sheikhs held in Mogadishu in which they demanded the resignation of the TFG President, Prime Minister and the speaker of the parliament because of their failure to check the advances of the Islamists. Ahlu Sunna Mogadishu wing houses warlords, suufi sheikhs and is propagated mainly by the Mudulood clan of ******.

Besides keeping pressure on the TFG forces, Harakat Al Shabaab mujahidin, launched on the side a demolition campaign on the abused graves of the well known Sheikhs in Mogadishu as they have done in most of southern Somalia . Soon after the grave exhumation squad finishes off a grave of a sheikh in a particular district; the residents of the district take revenge by pointing their fingers to the graves of others who are respected by the next door clan – they get sense of fulfilment by seeing even distribution of humiliation in the neighbourhood. Some genuine followers of the Suufi creed were caught several times stealing the bones of their Sheikhs from Al – Shabab storage depot with the view to lay to rest the bones and build shrines for them when the circumstances changes to their favour.

To stop the Sufis on their tracks the grave digger groups of Al – Shabab under the command of Sheikh Said Karatay came up with an idea that discouraged the true followers of the suffi creed from stealthily following around the grave flattening teams. They excavated bones from the Christian cemetery of Mogadishu and mixed them with the bones from the saints – the suffis’s hope of setting their hands on the bones was done for good because there is no way they can tell which bone belongs to the Christian monk. Eleven tombs were levelled to the ground and the commander of the brigade declared that the first phase is concluded today (03/04/10).

4. The Mogadishu Pirates

The pirate presence in Mogadishu is gathering momentum and their involvement in the murky politics of Mogadishu can be a factor of concern because they are locals with tribal backing. They started hijacking Mogadishu bound ships and boats which has already enraged some quarters of the local politicians. The general manager of Mogadishu port Mr. Abdi Jinow Calasow (who used the port as his own property in the past) appealed to the TFG to empower the Somali Coast Guards to flush them out but it is understood that the TFG has neither the muscle nor the will power to tackle the water born problems. The pirates have deep pockets to finance their own war without resorting to outside help and will soon fall in line with the group they think their interest is best served – Islamists and the pirates are in the bad books of the west.

The opportunist American counter terrorism industries are mulling the idea of using Drones to support the over publicised TFG offensive to retake Mogadishu. The Drone/fixedwing/helicopter operations are not a new undertaking because they were in operation in the skies of Somalia since 2006 and are there only to hunt down few marked individuals. This news is more of physiological lip service to mislead the TFG but will have no meaningful contribution in Mogadishu warfare other then bombing innocent civilians as they do in Afghanistan and Gaza.

The Central Region: The Ahlu Sunna divided along clan lines

Ahlu Sunna Galguduud Wing (*** clan)

The pact between Ahlu Sunna and the TFG which was quickly endorsed by the African Union, the Arab League, UN Special Envoy and the Organization of the Islamic Conference was in tatters before it was officially signed. Faction led by the group’s foreign relations office, Sheikh Bashir Abdi Olaad, along with 26 members including Sheikh Abdiqadir Abdirahman (Abu Zakaria) condemned the agreement. This faction made its press statement in Abudwaq town, Galgudud region, in which they labelled the deal as a plot to disintegrate the group. They are of the opinion that the TFG power sharing agreement is an Ethiopian scheme to further its own interest as there is no incentive for Ahlu sunna (galguduud wing) to sign an agreement with a partner, TFG, they consider as a weak link that share Wahabi creed with Al Shabab and Hizbi – Islam.

The chief deputy of Ahlu Sunna (Galguduud wing), Sheikh Hassan Sheikh Abdi, along with four other deputies held a press conference at hotel Barakat in Nairobi and made public that they don’t recognise the agreement signed on their behalf with the TFG in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The group’s European spokesman Mr. Mohamed Hassan Awliyo who was in Addis at the time was arrested in his hotel by Ethiopian police forces to keep him away from the talks that lead to the signing of the agreement because his negative view of the whole project that was known to the Ethiopian secret services.

The members Ethiopia is promoting are the mindless warlords of the region such as Abdi Nur Siyad (aka the mad Abdi), Garaase, Farah Dabageed and etc. The Sufi sheikhs are not part of the project and have no desire to sacrifice their children for an Ethiopian cause. The Ethiopian-assisted warlords are using the religious cover to cloud their bad name. Ethiopian-recruited militias from Godey are soon to cross the border to start war once more in Hiiraan, and also there is concerted massive movement of men and arms from Mogadishu by sea to Eel-bur although the first trial run was slaughtered upon landing. The elders of the Duduble and Murursade clan expressed their displeasure publically and privately – their territory enjoys a reliable peace under Al Shabab.

Mr. Ahmed Abdisalaan, a close relative of the chairman of the group, Ma’lin Mohamoud, is pencilled in to be appointed to an important ministry during the forthcoming power sharing implementation as per Addis agreement . Mr. Ahmed has enemies within his tribe and outside his tribe – some of the Ayre clan believe that he had a hand in the elimination of Sheikh Aden Hashi Ayrow, Al Shabab’s military commander, by an American missile in Dusamareeb in May 2008 and the Abgal tribe are of the opinion that he deceived premier Nur Ade during the reign of president Abdilahi Yusuf which resulted the displacement of the Abgal clan from Karan district for the first time in 20 years. The proposal of General Mohamed Nur Galaal (*** clan) for a top defence post and that an Ayre clan member to assume the governorship of Galguduud angered many of Ahlu Sunna members. The *******, the *** and to some extend the Sa’ad tribes sensed that they have been used by the *** clan to advance their own political goals. This left a bad aftertaste in the mouth of the non *** clans and as a consequence the members of Ahlu Sunna forces on the ground that hail from *******, *** and Sa’ad clans made their way to their respective territories leaving behind only the *** clansmen to protect Guriel and Dusamareeb.

The ******* went back to Abud Waaq, the *** pulled their forces out to defend Ba’adweyne, Amaara and its surroundings from the Suleiman clan who are ousting them out and the Sa’ad made their way to join the Ahlu Sunna – Galmudug wing. Al Shabab and Hisbi – Islam are gearing up to over run the area at the earliest possible time and in light of the disintegration of Ahlu sunna – Galguduud wing , there is strong possibility they may have a smooth run – let us not forget that some of the *** clan are also sympathetic to al Shabab.

The weeklong meeting in Abudwaq district between the members who signed the agreement and those who refuted it produced somewhat flimsy convenience mutual agreement primarily intended for the media because the stride of Al Shabab forces towards their nerve centre (Dusamareb) denied them the luxury to address the real issues in detail. Nothing of subsistence has yet to come out – the impasse appears to be an obstinate one with no easy short cuts in sight. It is been said that they have reluctantly agreed only to defend their territories although the word jointly wasn’t explicitly mentioned but clearly ruled out any fighting against Al Shabab outside Galguduud region which amounts to a major change of heart from the part of the group – they used to say they will clear Al Shabab and Hizbi – Islam from Somalia.

Sources close to the proceedings of the negotiations confirmed that three Ethiopian intelligence officers of Somali descent who where delegated to bridge the gap went empty handed. Five politicians – who were suspected to be Al – Itihad members – were briefly detained and also a Quranic school teacher was arrested during the course of the negotiations on the grounds that he is a sympathiser of Al – Shabab and teaches the Wahabi curriculum to his pupils.

Ahlu Sunna Galmudug Wing (Sa’ad clan)

To add some more uncertainty in the standing of Ahlu Sunna as a front, Mr. Abdishakur Haji Ali Hirsi – an American citizen with oil business in Tanzania – was voted as the chairman of the national salvation forces of Ahlu Sunna on 27/03/10 in southern Gaalkayo at Kulmiye hotel. Mr. Abdishakur was the architect and project manager of the failed 2006 CIA funded “Alliance against terrorism” that used to make money out of the sale of Sheikhs and people of ****** background to Ethiopia. He is marketing his new project on a nationalist platform (against the infamous pact in Addis between the TFG and Ahlu Sunna Dusamareeb faction) but the question many people are asking is who he is fooling when it is common knowledge that he is full time CIA informer and an Ethiopian stooge. The response of Galmudug’s president is at most importance as the impoverished Barahley district at the southern periphery of Gaalka’ayo can hardly accommodate two parallel authorities – Abdishakur, I deem is capable to buy the loyalty of the president as he has unlimited funds at his disposal to hire the entire men in arms in Galmudug temporarily but will produce nothing tangible on the ground.

Ahlu Sunna Cadaado wing will most probably pop up very soon because the Suleman clan would not stay at the side, as the established Somali clan politics teaches us, but will endeavour to neutralise the *** – Galguduud faction and the Sa’ad -Galmudug faction which they see as a threat both to their long-term survival and short-term interests.

Juba and Gedo front – Kenynan recruited troop’s deployment dilemma

The fight for Kismayo port city 500 Km south of Mogadishu that started on Wednesday September 30, 2009 between Hisbi – Islam led by Sheikh Ahmed Madoobe and Al Shabab is over with the total victory of Al Shabab. The loyalty of Sheikh Ahmed Madoobe towards the Islamist cause was in question even during the heydays of the movement. Hisbi – Islam and Al Shabab members used to jointly portray him as a man who has a soft belly for the seculars and as an opportunist using the movements as a stepping stone for his own selfish political targets – negotiation with the TFG from stronger position to extract maximum concessions. Please hear a brief history of Ahmed Madoobe Listen.

The troops recruited in Kenya were primarily harvested from the Somali refugee camps in Kenya and to some degree from Somali Kenyan citizens. The Kenyan government’s continuous denial of its involvement of a massive troop recruiting project for the TFG from the refugee camps has come to an end last week – such action is in contravention of the Geneva Convention for the protection of the refugees.

The parents of the young soldiers are campaigning in Kenya to stop from their children being dumped in Mogadishu and are keen to take their case to Kenya’s highest court. After a lengthy deliberation between the parent’s of the soldiers, Somali Kenyans and Somalis – involving the Somali Kenyan political representatives- an interim consensus is reported to have been reached. The consensus is to send them neither to Mogadishu nor to Southern Somalia but to keep them along the Kenyan boarder for the time being with the view that they eventually fight in the south. The ultimate goal of Kenya is to use the trained army to keep away Al Shabab from its boarders and to that end Sh. Sharif’s wish to use the same army to protect his den would hardly see the light of the day.

The recruits have finished their training but their deployment became a riddle of its own. The president of the TFG wants them to be deployed in Mogadishu but the commander of the troops who are independent from him has other plans – to deploy them in the south to flush out Al Shabab from Gedo and Kismayo – Juba lands. The local commanders have their own agenda which is to curve out their personal territory to create what the Ethiopian/Kenyan government would like to call Juba Land State to rhyme in tune with Somaliland and Puntland states in the north of the country.

The parents of the soldiers took some further steps and around four hundred of the troops are reported to have already deserted and some reliable sources forces on the ground confirmed that the rest are in no fit state morally to face the veteran Al Shabab fighters. It seems unlikely that the young soldiers recruited mainly from ****** and ******* clans to achieve any decisive victory over Al Shabab because sizable sections of both clans are part and parcel of the movement- the best one would expect is that if they could keep Al Shabab away from Kenya’s boarders and to become a nuisance and a bit of distraction to Al Shabab for at best two months – Juba land is a very huge area and is the right terrain for Al Shabab guerrilla forces to humble any giant.

Conclusions: – there are but only two games in town (Al Shabab, or General Samatar)

The Mogadishu front, the central region and the Juba land region are on a fast track to self destruction because they have a common denominator – hired guns- built on tribal quick sand which is no match to the solid ideology of the Islamists. I can’t imagine life under the Islamists who are obsessed in suppressing the usual human nature- choices and diversity.

The Islamists are waiting only to capture Dusamareeb and Guriel to declare an Islamic government. Their plan is to attack the disintegrated region simultaneously – Al Shabab to capture Guriel and Hisbi Islam to capture Dusamareeb and it seems it won’t take long. There is also a channel of communication between the elders and the Islamists and there is strong possibility that they can capture without fight.

Puntland is the only organised with tested democratic regional government (it has changed four presidents – Col. Yusuf, Mr. Mohamed Abdi Hashi, Gen. Ade Musse and now Mr. Faroole – while Somaliland could not untangle itself from Col. Rayale autocratic grip) that straddles across central and north eastern part of Somalia that has the geographical advantage to slow down the march of the Islamists to the north. Unlike the central region it has a standing army, police, judiciary, working civil service, educational institutions and the likes but Sh. Sharif’s lack of political maturity created an unnecessary rift in their relationship after the agreement signed in Galkayo between the TFG and Puntland was trashed by Sharif Sakin and professor Ibbi . To add an insult to injury they preferred to locate the Somali naval academy at Djibouti when the same agreement stipulates that such academy should be based in Puntland. It is too late to revive the bond between the two in time to tilt the balance in favor of the orphaned secularist platform.

It is good luck for a man if his enemy (Tigryan regime) is wise. Meles Zenawi is so foolish that he considers himself as if he is the Prime Minister of Somalia proper – no respect for boundaries. On March 19 Col. Ahmed Omer, Mudug governor and Col. Muse Ahmed Abdirahman ,regional police commander, departed Galkayo with sizable number of Puntland’s Police and Darvish Army to stop Ethiopian employed Malaysian petroleum firm from stealing Somali gas in Galdogob. They managed to abort the exploration scheme but can’t be rationally expected to drag the offending firm to face the law in Puntland’s courts as the Tigriyan regime is untouchable at this point in time – Puntland deserves commendation from all Somalis.

Somaliland (the unilateralist secessionist region) in recent times is engaged in unconstructive policies that have the prospective of creating the right environment for Islamist militants (that are already close by but waiting for a the signal) to come to the forefront – occupation of Las Anod, perpetual postponement of elections caused by the unruly opposition parties and selling of ******i refugees to Ethiopia of which the latest victim was the sale of 50 year old women (Bishaaro), a UNHCR-registered grandmother. The late president of Somaliland Mr. Mohamed Igal, among other things, will be remembered most as the first person in the history of Somalia that started the heinous trade of the selling ******i refugees in exchange of unworthy favors from the Tigreyan regime of Ethiopia who is accused among other crimes genocide exacted against Somalis in Ethiopia. His trade in human, however inhuman remains, has nonetheless some etiquette lest it was limited to the sale of the male population. President Rayale’s regime sadly went further by selling old women too, and God forbid the next one’s goal, to uphold the custom, will most certainly be to add babies to his human trade portfolio to achieve a title his predecessors only dreamed of “Heartless no one.”

Somaliland’s people, who most often play the victim card, colluded with the fascist actions of their administration with jubilation – not a single public demonstration was held in Somaliland in support of the innocent people delivered to their death (past 15 years) by their “elected” administration. Moreover, there has not been a simple gesture of disapproval shown in reaction to the continuous harassment and killings meted against the illegally occupied Las’anod people who are made to languish in refugee camps all over the country. The tax regime imposed on the occupied people uses the most farcical and draconian method of enforcing council tax. The penalty of default is instantaneous extraction of the doors and windows of the property by the occupation tribal militia - over four hundred and fifty houses are said to have lost their windows and doors to the spiteful tax – the secessionist tribe is bent to make Las’anod people to pay for the cost of their occupation.

Concluding Remarks

The Somalis for two decades are embroiled in a vicious circle revolving around tribalism and anarchism that has no parallels anywhere in the world. The once beautiful and proud Somalia that used to stand tall among the African States is turned into a big mental asylum home were the normal behavior is classed as madness, truth is most hated, killing is recognized as commendable act that takes some one most nearer to God.

The Somalis must realize that without a form of government the Somali race will be erased from the face of the earth through normal wastage – disease and hunger. I will least be surprised to come across the demise of the Somali race in the near future -there is no shortage of people in this world but shortage of land (365 days summer that offers clear warm beaches) to an extent that some countries are running around the world with seeds in their hands looking for a fertile place to plant in. There are too many elderly people in Europe and America who are looking forward to retire in a tropical climate and businessmen are working on the blue print to convert our country in to the largest care home in the world – they guarantee full employment in exchange for the total and permanent surrender of liberty or General Samater’s option – the choice is yours.

In light of the above gloomy but true read, I say in conclusion; that General Mohamed Ali Samatar is the only living Somali leader that has the capability, charisma, patience and relevant experience to unite the Somalis under his wings. It is my believe that, despite his advanced age and precarious health situation, he can lead a team of Somalis to reconstitute Somalia to its formal glory and will take the whiff out of the mindless tribalism that humiliated Somalis for he is from a minority tribe that has no blood on its hand and has the added advantage that it is seen as no threat to any tribe – Let us hold this opportunity with both hands and petition General Samater to lead us before time runs out.
