The clan courts need to undertsand they will not be able to stop the President from coming to Mogadishu as head of government and not a guest.

They will not be able to hold on to the occupied areas and national assets such as ports and airports.

Thus first put the wepons down, return the airport and ports and then the TFG will return with its security forces to Mogadishu. Why would anyone recognize this government when it hasn’t done anything ? Look (*_*) Duke leave religion alone there is a peace in Somaliland and Puntland right, the first our government needs to do is make sure the leaders of these states are included the government …….you can have people like buub what ever his name is saying I’m from Somaliland then you come to the south right or wrong. You can’t expect to come another clan’s land with foreign peacekeeping force and expect the government to work.

Who's land is it? The clan courts or the people of Bay&bakool, Lower Shabbele and so on. The hostility comes from the clan courts who are the occupiying powers of the south, thus any peace keepers is seen as weakening their hold on other peoples land.

 

 

My clan armes are part of the TFG's , they do not have any factions outside Puntland [regional governemnt] and TFG national governement. They neither claim nor have design on other clans lands.

Somaliland is a good example, it is a regional state and does not need to be disarmed, its arms are used to protect its citizens in the form of Police and security personnel.

The model is for the people of every state to take responsability for their won security with minimal national armed forces.

 

The clan courts arms are used to further a single clans agenda at the expense of local clans..

so when does the clan court become part of the gov...since we both know that from gaalkacyo to mogdishu that its clan courts land .why couldn't they keep their arms like puntland and somaliland and leave the peacekeeping for baby bakool and shabeele hoos.....why do you need peacekeeper to be clan courts land since we don't need in somaliland and puntland. why couldn't we have them in the dispute land...like sool and sanaag and shabelle hoos.....i don't understand the need of the peacekeeper for the rest of somalia......please explain to me duke....i'm just trying to think like.....qabiil way....don't to another qabiil's land simple

Some days ago a person, I think his/her name was Fabiana, was making an analysis about the current situation of Somalia in here SOL's political fora!

 

One thing he/she mentioned was the calling for a general election! These men, who now control Mogadishu are against elections of anykind!

 

This guys are not joking, what the government needs to do and quickly that is, is to engage them in all out war! They're weak, lack communication, they're also underresourced and lack military hardware but they got one dangerous thing and that is, that they using religion as a false pretence, so that's why, they'll get enthusiastic young men fighting for them, who believe that they're waging jihaad against our arch-enemey, namely Ethiopia!

 

I believe, that they'll not venture to much out of Mogadishu, because, they don't want to loose all their 'technicals' outside Mogadishu e.g. Baidoa or even Buurhakaba because, that would leave Mogadishu exposed to the TFG unchallenged!

 

They'll not fight outside Mogadishu and for that I'll give you my word Il-Generale, that's why the government needs to get its act quickly together but one thing has to be mentioned, that is, that the trasitional government of Somalia is accountable to the International community and hence need to weigh out the advantages and disadvantages of such a move because they can't afford to loose the diplomatic and montary support they get from the international community, so what does it help, if the courts don't want to fight anywhere outside Mogadishu and you can't capture Mogadishu because the war there would be bloody and long!

 

One other thing is the lifting of the arms embargo, if that was done quickly then I wouldn't hesistate to say, that Abdullahi Yusuf would move swiftly to go into battle but now I cannot see the all-out war some in here have prophecised!

 

There will be a no all out war inshallaah unless ofcourse circumstances on the ground change swiftly and we all know Somali politics, it's without principles and everything can happen in a second and one eye-flash!

Sakhar, you are right, the all out war, will take place maybe not now, since the clan courts are hell bent on gaining by force what they can not gain through diplomacy.

 

I have said it is not an impossable task to defeat them and that will be the likely option, but as you alluded to it depends on certain factors but the situation as it is can not be maintained.

Xox, I agree with the last point you made, it would be unfair to send peace keepers to one clan's land and not another, Bay, Bakool. Lower Shabble, the two Juba's and Gedo are not clan courts country and must be vacated by them. The land between South of Galkacyu to Mogadishu should they create an admin like Puntland and Somaliland, then there would be no need for even a single foreign soldier. I am not calling for injustice..

 

Also note that Mogadishu is the capital and thus all its institutions should be under the TFG otherwise it will lose its status and become just another city.. Thats a choice for its people.

think for one minute about what you say. Recognition of your government (As if that is an option)is not contingent upon what it does. once you elect them, you must let finish their term, like it or not, thats how sane people function.
