Hussein Kassim (PhD), originally from the Somali region's Aware district, is a prominent figure in Ethiopia's 2018 political upheaval. Educated in Ethiopia, the US, and Canada, he worked abroad for 15 years with international development organizations. Returning in 2018, he now serves as Chief of Cabinet in the Somali region and Audit and Inspection Secretary within the Prosperity Party. Hussein recently discussed regional issues and future plans with Yonas Amare of The Reporter in Jigjiga.
