Dahir Rayale Kahin and his delegation meet French Foreign Minister and European Affairs Hon. Bernard Kouchner in his office at Quai d’Orsay, Paris on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. The president and French Foreign Minister and European Affairs discussed and talked about different issues such as the situation of the region and the Horn of Africa; Somaliland’s politics, security, economic and piracy on Somali Sea. In addition, the president briefed the minister on Somaliland’s current Situation and forthcoming presidential election, security situation and the important role that Somaliland play on Anti-piracy operations, stability of the Region and the Horn of Africa as well. The minister congratulates the president on Somaliland’s achievement in terms of development, peace and stability, and democratization process. The minister pointed out that he has a good knowledge about Somaliland as he visited the country in early 1990 when most of the country was destroyed by war. In addition, he mentioned that the Somaliland has achieved a tremendous change and development within a short time of period is considered as a miracle and the international community has witnessed and acknowledged these. He promises that he is going to visit Somaliland again to see these achievements by his own eyes. The minister concluded that he is always kept informed the Somaliland situation by his staff responsible for African Affairs. The delegation led by Somaliland President consists of Hon. Abdullahi Mohamed Dua’ale, Somaliland Foreign Minister, Ali Omer Mohamed, Berbera Port Manager, Ali Ismail Hassan, Somaliland representative to France, and Ahmed Mohamed Essa, the Private Secretary of Somaliland President.
