General Duke Posted January 26, 2009 He was a hero for so long, now they accuse him of committing war crime and of being a tyrant, a two faced clanist? Why now. The monster they created is coming to haunt them. Al Shabaab has become a lethal multi clan organization with a mind of its own.
Somali Pirate Posted January 26, 2009 duke, keep dreaming my friend. Al shabab has the support of the common man in the south. Al shabab is going no where. And the warlords and thugs are shaking in their boots. I suggest you stick to puntland and your hero who is hiding in yemen like the coward he is. General Duke Posted January 26, 2009 Mr Prirate, you do not get the point of the post, so you rush in like the novice you are. Al Shabaab seem to be on top of the game, thus why the anger from the usual clan portals, that used to support them what has changed now? The Shabaab have morphed into an organization which is against the vested interest of the usual clan acolytes thus this is a welcome thing. Though the showdown in the south is not good for anyone and least of all the poor helpless population. Where is Adan Madobe, Nur Cade and their strategy to empower the governemnt, they lost everything in less than a month.

Welcome sign to a terrorised population. As for nur adde and the rest, sheikh sharif is going to win. He is the only person who can bring al shabab to the table. The rest have no legitemacy

General Duke Posted January 26, 2009 ..Adeer indeed you are a novice, the groups pushing the Sharif are the same groups who want to continue the war for what ever reason. Thus the Al Shabaab are easily the best option out of the bad apples left in the south. The Sharif and the clan acolytes will be forced to fight their old friends and this is what you do not see. The anti Al Shabaab rhetoric has increased markedly from the same clan webistes that used to support them. e have seen the massacre of the Al Shabaab fighters in Guri-Ceel by the same groups who now support the Sharif, Why? And what will this mean for the people of the south, this is the real question ya Pirate wanna be.
Somali Pirate Posted January 26, 2009 general duke. sheikh sharif has ruled the south for a period of 6 months in 2006 which has brought peace and stability. None of your heroes has managed to that. So please don't even mention the sheikh's name with the rest of the failures. Al shabab has brought peace to every town it controls. Duke. al shabab is free from tribal ideology. something you will never be free from the rest of your life.
NASSIR Posted January 26, 2009 The only way out of outsider meddling and political independence to the Somali nation is through the Al-shabaab resistance movement. We have been betrayed time after time and to trust again the Elephant in the room is a clossal life time mistake.
Xoogsade Posted January 27, 2009 There are some lessons Muqdisho residents can take from this peaceful surrender of Baydhabo: A- Differentiate the bad from the good and don't aid the warlords when confronted by a better organization. Reer Baydhabo could have encouraged Xaabsade and his militia to stay on and fight but they didn't. B- Xaabsade seeing how unwilling the population was to come to his aide, made the right calculation and phoned in Al-shabaab for his surrender according to this website , therefore -peaceful surrender of muqdisho is what clan elders and the population should aim if there is a future stalemate. Choose the good over the warlords as happened in 2006. Abuu-mansuur is a political genius in making this take-over peaceful and letting Xaabsade and other warlords go on their way. Rumour has it that Xaabsade and his associates had a plane waiting for them and could have left town before Al-shabaab came to town. They opted to surrender the city and leave peacefully without a fight. Finally, a warlord who understood the TFG isn't worth the blood of single Baydhabaawi.
