Cowke Posted April 16, 2010 Infact Abdullahi Yusuf probably has more because he gained aideed weaponry from the 93 galkayo war!!! and we all know aideed was the most powerful man in somalia why? because he had the government weapons but as soon as he clashed with old "yey" he lost those weapons and aideed ever since slowly disappeared, whilst yey grew in power and noone messed with him, xataa when yey was there in puntland from 98-2004, u never saw egal dare talk about sool or sanaag!!! That war in galkayo changed the fate of the ssdf ppl, it turned then from being "ignored" which they were from 91-93 noone even asked them anything to becoming the most dominant force in the block. Infact the power is so broad they can tussle in hamar and at the same time hold a war front with hargeisa!!!! I dare u show u me a clan that can fight from two fronts? The real facts is snm have about 8 tanks 4 bm21 and 150 technicals. They cant fight two warfronts with 7000 ppl. Because the darawish are 5000 and thats the ones based in puntland. Forget the 3000 already in hamar!!!
Cowke Posted April 16, 2010 The only thing somaliland can do is show 5 tanks on youtube and say i am strong, but they cant go outside and use it because PPL HAVE MORE TANKS then them. If they are powerful clan they shud be ready with tussle but they dont because their not powerful clan, why would a powerful clan only 29 seats in the tfg where everyone else gets 61? Xaji u might have tanks but we have more tanks that is why we get more in tfg then u do...even usc ppl get more then u do plus rra ppl!!!

Faafan Posted April 16, 2010 Are you guys alrite in the head...how in the world is Somaliland paying 60,000 soldiers???? How is it running tanks or even fighter jets?? The only thing Somali's have are a few A.K's, a few Cabdi Bile's and thats it. You need money to run an army, a state, a department even and thats something Somaliland dearly lacks. Recognised countries with money 50 times more cant have a standing army of that sort. Somaliland has no more than 5,000 men max. SNM days perhsap 10-15 Max. 60,000 Somalia went to war with Ethiopia with around this much or less in 77 rediculous.
Hales Posted April 16, 2010 ^ I was quite delusioned when i believed that they had a 60,000 standing army.

landish Posted April 18, 2010 Cowke your link that you're stating that SL has an army consist of 7000 is pure rubish. I dare you to quote that number from a reliable source instead of you just posting a link that has nothing to do with what your trying to imply. That number is purely a product of your envy. This only shows your cuqdadniimo...kulaha 7000? in which world http://rds.homeoffice.gov.uk/rds/pdfs07/somalia-150107.doc P.S. stop comparing puntland with SL since we're not on the same level in terms of populations and development. And please lets not go into military might because i really doubt that Pl army is anything close to 5000. Cyber_Nomad Posted April 19, 2010 Originally posted by Hales: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Somaliland The Army numbers around 60,000 with army vehicles and tanks, and in 2004 all the warlords combined numbered around a couple of thousands. If they had a sense of Somalinimo they would have helped the TFG established a government during those times instead of waging war against Puntland and sucking up to Ethiopia. The Somalilanders would probably then stand a chance of having a seccession; but you havent made any progress towards it and have just isolated and made a future "Somalia state" more hostile towards the goal. If all the regions in Somalia were united we would have long gotten out of this civil war thats my take on this. Southerns don't have any sense of Somalinimo its all about Qabiil to them, if not then why didn't the TFG use puntland as a base to rebuild Somalia ?, or why didn't any 'president' that came after Afweyne issue a formal apology - or even an informal one- of what happened to the people of Somaliland, they were busy fighting with each other is not an excuse. Sucking up to ethiopia - like TFG and puntland do-, I see you still didn't reach political puberty, because if you did you would have understood that there is nothing as ultimate enemy and ultimate ally, its all circumstantial. Puntland had it coming, by taking over Somaliland territory and boast to progress deeper into Somaliland, so SL called their bluff. Somalia as you know is hostile to somaliland simply because it takes Somaliland as granted, and it is essential to balance the major Qabil powers. If Somaliland had chosen the road you suggest, it would have been part of the civil war, but we didn't we made the right choice the tough choice and we are living with the consequences. Somaliland has made progress on all fields security ,ecnonmy, education and military, except for recongnition, even though many countries hold informal ties with Somaliland - a couple of days ago a British and French delegation visited the capital and Borama- somaliland has liaison offices in USA,China, Russia, UK, Italy, Australia,Finland,Norway, Belgium, , Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda,Ethiopia,Yemen, Djibouti. but as usual for SomaliWeners somaliland is even worse than south because they want to secede. Duufaan Posted April 19, 2010 t-72 tanks?. The somali army did not even had T-72 Tanks and by 1988, it only had six fighter plan working and they were in moqdisho for last time. Where somaliland get it is weapon? The twenty six division of somali army was based in north west somali when the somali goverment colapsed 1990.General Abdiasiis took what he could take and SNM took the rest. Somaliland has 8 T-44 and T-52 working Tanks compare to SSC 10 Tanks working.
