Mass Anti-Ethiopian Demo in Muqdisho

MOGADISHU (AFX) - Thousands of people demonstrated today in northern Mogadishu against the Ethiopian forces who have helped Somalia's weak government wrest control of the capital from rival Islamists.

The protestors, chanting anti-Ethiopian slogans, threw stones and burnt tyres in two separate neighbourhoods as the Somali Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi left the nearby town of Afgoye, 20 kilometres away and headed for the capital.

"Thousands of angry people have started a violent demonstration in the northern part of the city, particularly in Tawfiq and Suuqaholaha areas," said Abdulsatar Dahir Sabrie, a resident.

"People are burning tyres in the streets and they are shouting 'We do not want Ethiopians to enter town!' They are also throwing stones," he added. newsdesk@afxnews.com afp/cmr

Where are their guns though? Also, Suuqo Xoolaha was abandoned by the Xabashi troops after some somali men opened fire on them.

Should Muqdisho live up to its reputation and be the burial ground of the second invading Army?
