Jumatatu Posted April 21, 2005 I had two minds whether to post this in the 'jokes' section or here where it will be seen by many die hard supporters. The latter factor led me to start the thread in here and see many smiley faces... -Serenity- Posted April 22, 2005 ^ I know smart aleck! Still, English is the international language. And Somalis dont speak arabic but Somali.
wind.talker Posted April 22, 2005 ^^ English is the international language of commerce. The Arab League Summit is not the stock exchange. BESIDES, the article only points out that El Presidente Abdullahi Yusuf is the first non-Arab speaking 'leader' to participate at such a summit. Not exactly something to be proud of. -Serenity- Posted April 22, 2005 ^ English is the international language of commerce, education, exchange, etc... communication! Which again brings me back to the significance of knowing Arabic? I dont see how him not knowing Arabic in any way affects his potential to be a president. Shouldn't these Arabs know English?
