guraad Posted July 26, 2003 July 26, 2003. HornAfrik, Mogadishu, Somalia. An international reconnaissance mission who was currently paying visits across Somali has failed today to enter Beledweyn town in Hiran region. Sharif Mohamed Sidow, who claimed to be the chairman of the region’s security committee, told HornAfrik that he denied the international delegation to get access to the town. “We received a letter from the chairman of the region, Hassan Abdule Kalad, not to allow them to enter the town” he said. Col. Abdulahi Kalif who heads the international mission had refused to comment on the incident. However, the delegation has later arrived in Baidao town where they relatively received a red carpet welcome. The delegation from the African Union has already visited the town of Galkayo, Bosaso, Kardo and Garowe. During its visit in Galkayo, the delegation told local residents that the town will serve as a base for the international peace keeping mission in Somalia. This, however, has raised many questions in many parts of the country.
